What happens to trade-up discount if product is returned?

Hi,

I’ve got a 30% trade-up discount on my account but cannot decide what to buy. If I buy say a Sonos Five and decide to return it within the trial period, will my discount be restored so I can use it against something else or will I lose the discount?
