My home theater system has an ARC, a new Sub 4 and two One SL speakers.  I’ve read several reviews that say stay with your ARC, Sub 4 and upgrade to two ERA 300s for surround speakers.  Most reviews say since you already have a dedicated Sub 4 and with an upgrade to two ERA 300s, you would not notice much, if any, difference between having an ARC vs ARC Ultra, plus you’d save $1,000.  Thoughts?  Thanks!

Not a lot of Arc owners with the new Sub 4 but reviews of it seem good.

The Arc versus Ultra, for me comes down to the improved center channel options. The Atmos improvements sound good too but that is minor here.

When looking at cost you need to factor in the Arc's resale value or use in a other space.

The 300s are the way to go if you can position them anywhere close to right. The 100s would be my second choice,  moving the One SLs to another space or reselling them.

The Arc Ultra IMO is a better speaker overall versus the Arc. As @Stanley_4 mentioned the most noticeable improvement is center speaker dialogue which is greatly improved. The rest really depends upon what your ears can actually discern or you psychologically convince yourself that the sound is better. I’m replacing three (3) Arc’s with Arc Ultra’s if that serves as a testimonial. BTW...I’m placing my Arc’s on eBay to defer the cost.
