Hi, I used a Echo Dot to have Alexa integration on a Sonos Port connected to a Onkyo “Works with Sonos” receiver (but this last part is working well).
I grouped Echo Dot and Sonos Port in the same group in the Alexa app, and set the Sonos Port as default speaker.
In Italy Audible service is not available among Sonos services (just incredibile… but this is the situation). However, you can indeed use Audibile through Alexa.
I noticed the following:
- if I give the Alexa command through a Sonos One I have in my system (in another room), book reading comes thru my amplified speakers (“Alexa read the book in the kitchen”)
- if I use the Alexa app and select the group said above, book reading come thru my amplified speakers
- if I give the Alexa command through the Echo Dot (in the same group as Sonos Port, with Sonos Port as default speaker) Alexa won’t execute Audible through Sonos Port, but through the Echo Dot.
This does not make sense to me.
Note: using the Echo Dot with supported services like Amazon Music, will correctly play music through Sonos Port.
