Hi there!

I am getting really frustrated with trying to install Alexa on my new Era 300. I have tried several times, factory reseting speaker but still - at first there is only one option to add vooce assistent - Sonos voice assistent. When I succesfully add it, then click on add voice assistent it just gives me the option to use third part smart device to control Sonos speaker (which I do not want - I want to install and use Alexa on Era 300), and leads me to quick help manual. No other options at all. Also in the Amazon Alexa app - there is no Sonos skill, for that matter anyways?!
i have tried to reinstall both apps (Sonos and Amazon Alexa app) with no luck.

please help!

Have you installed the Sonos skill within the Alexa App?

After menu attempts, installs and reinstalls - Alexa app found Era 300, and I could add it as device - so now I can control Sonos from my Amazon Echo Dot

BUT

  • that was not what I wanted to do - I still can not install Alexa on Era 300 speaker, so that I can use it independently

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

If you open the Sonos App and select the gear wheel in the top right of the screen Then select ‘Manage>Voice Assistants.  Do you see Amazon Alexa listed?  If ‘Yes’, if you select it is your Era 300 listed?  If no, can you select Add to another product and add your Era 300?

Please let us know how you get on.

Hi, I have just been talking to support and they have informed me that my region (Serbia) is not supported for Alexa install and that there is no way around it. Sonos gets the location data from your Sonos account, so I installed new account, adressed to Austria, and now I have resolved my problems.

Thank you for your effort.
