I have just used my new Sonos ERA 100’s to listen to a previous BBC Radio broadcast of Sounds of the Sixties.  The next time I asked Alexa to open BBC Sounds and play Sounds of the Sixties, it gets stuck in a loop of about 30 seconds whereupon it stops and repeats the same 30 seconds.  It doesn’t matter if I ask BBC Sounds to play a different episode, every time I get the same 30 second loop.  If I ask BBC Sounds to fast forward any amount, she replies that “I can’t do that”.  I have tried re-booting the ERA 100’s and also tried un-installing the Alexa App and re-loading it.  I can get BBC Sounds to play Radio 1 Anthems, but if I ask for Sounds of the Sixties, I just get the same 30 second loop.

Hello @LindaT with the Beagle, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Amazon Alexa and BBC Sounds on Sonos.

Do you get the same 30 second loop if you initiate playback from the Sonos App instead of using a voice command?

If you are able to reproduce this, I would suggest to Submit Diagnostics within 10 minutes of doing so and then reach out to our Support Team for some live troubleshooting.

They have tools at their disposal to provide you with information and advice, specific to your system and what it reports.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.  If I open BBC Sounds from the App everything works fine but if I use Alexa voice commands all I get is the same 30 second loop.

Hey @LindaT with the Beagle, thank you for the quick response.

I would suggest a quick disable → re-enable of the Sonos Skill and the BBC Sounds Skill within the Amazon Alexa App.

Have a look on the following support article Alexa commands not working on Sonos and more specifically the below:

Re-enable the Sonos skill
Open the Alexa app and select the More menu in the bottom right. Go to Skills & Games > Your Skills > Sonos > Disable Skill. Once disabled, choose Enable Skill.

I hope this helps.
