Alexa sees sonos device, but believes the Sonos Skill isn’t enabled

For example whenever I try to ask Alexa to play the radio on my Sonos One, it will always say

“Hmm to do that enable your Sonos Skill in the
Alexa app, After enabling the skill just say, Alexa discover devices.”

After going through and determining that the Alexa app has the Sonos Skill enabled , I’m able to go through the website to play music through Alexa but actually telling it voice commands won’t work pertaining to that , or for any skill of that nature.

So far I’ve tried the solutions of resetting the sonos speaker as detailed in these guides:

If anyone has any other suggestions I would appreciate it 😃

I have the same problem, only i get a message saying my geographical location is wrong, which it isnt as ive double checked both sonos and amazon details and both are the same, also i live in the uk so the skill is available.

I'm experiencing the same problem. And I'm also in the UK. I have noticed though. If you add to the end of the Alexa request "on device' replacing device with your Sonos device name, it works sometimes. This only seems to be required since the more recent updates, and is a bit of a pain.
I keep getting a message on alexa app saying its not supported im my geographical location. But i know it is supported in the uk

If you open the Alexa app and select Settings>Devices> and select your Sonos One. Have you correctly set your device location?

This is probably due to a cross linking of your Amazon account. Can you please check the following:

1/ Ensure that the skill is enabled on the Amazon account that you have Linked to your Sonos account;
2/ Ensure that you don't have any other Amazon app on the iOs or Android devices logged into another Amazon account.

Let us know once you've checked these two things.

Is this via the Sonos One or other Echo device?

Yes both locations for alexa and sonos are the same and in the uk

Just to be clear - have you checked the device specific location not the general Alexa location?

You shouldn't need to define the room name for a Sonos One, it should default to the Sonos One room. Can you check the Alexa>Settings>History next time to see what Alexa thought it heard.

Yep it looked like it was this, due to me having two different amazon accounts one with a different email address which is my main and a secondary one that I used to use , I believe Alexa wanted the amazon account setup underneath the account that has the same email as the sonos account one. Thanks for your help ?

So. Here is the conversation I say. "Alexa, tunein absolute radio" it replies "Should I play absolute Radio station" I reply "yes" . Then it gives the. "Enable Sonos Skill" message. However, if I ask the same request with "on kitchen" (the name of the Sonos one device) at the end it works. Annoying.

What happens if you just say 'Alexa, Play Absolute Radio'? (You don't need to say tunein...)

That seems to work. Thanks
I had the "Hmmm, try adding adding the Sonos skill..." problem after de-registering my Sonos One due to multiple Amazon accounts. I set my location to UK on both Amazon and Alexa then re-registered the Sonos and whereas before I wasn't able to play music through spotify, I was now getting the Sonos skill message when trying to play any kind of music service. I realised that my Sonos account was set to France so I changed that to the UK also. Still no joy. Then when I went to

alexa.amazon.co.uk > Skills > Your Skills (top right of screen above magnifying glass) > All Skills

and looked at the Sonos skill, I noticed it said "updated 12 days ago". Now I think it probably means that the skill was updated by the developers but it got me thinking that when the skill was added the Sonos account was set to France. So I disabled the skill, rebooted the Sonos then added the skill again. Et voila!
