Tried factory reset
Tried signing out of accounts both Alexa /Sonos and removing from speakers
alexa will say radio 2 or radio x or Spotify but then will not play anything.
would appreciate some further advice

Before we go into deeper investigation, have you Disabled and Enabled the Sonos and BBC Sounds Skill within the Alexa App?
As a test, can you please ask the exact same request twice and us know if it works the second time?
