Sonos Roam Bluetooth Stereo via Audio MIDI Setup on Mac

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting another Sonos Roam but bluetooth stereo is a must for me as I can't stereo pair via wifi (I don't have a stable internet connection). Can someone help test the latency between the two speakers when setting up bluetooth stereo on Mac via Audio MIDI setup?

Appreciate it!

I’ve done this, and there is still alot of latency, as well as they don’t sound perfectly in-sync over BT when hacked together like that (I thought BT would be lower latency than AirPlay so I could use them as computer speakers, but it’s about the same on these). Also, they don’t sound perfectly in-sync over BT. I would expect your wifi will be good enough tho if you use AirPlay for music, instead of music services. Maybe it’s only your internet connection that is the issue.

Actually, I had only tested that on the Move, just tested on my new Roam, the BT latency is only about half a second on these for one speaker, AirPlay is 2-3 seconds, I was misremembering, but when both of them are connected to a mac at the same time they skip like crazy, interference … this probably explains why they didn’t have stereo BT pairing.

But also, you can’t make a stereo a pair with Audio MIDI Setup, it’ll just blast same audio to both speakers. I used an app called Loopback to get that done.
