I have Sonos set up across three different locations/ homes.

I was hoping to be able to take my roam from one home to the next , and for it to be able to connected to different Sonos systems via the app via wifi that is operating other Sonos speakers 

I registered the roam at one house & have now moved to the next , however I can only use this roam in Bluetooth mode , the new system will not locate this device ! 
how do I connect it to the currents home wifi ?

You could reset the Roam and redo the setup process each time you want to use it over WiFi at each location.
