The Mac app indicates your system is fine, which is good news. Don’t mess with that.
(Firstly I assume the iOS device is using the new wifi password)
I would recommend a “Forget current system” from the mobile app, then when it restarts, Connect to Existing System.
If that doesn’t help uninstall the mobile app, and when reinstalling ensure “local network” privilege is granted, and again try Connect to existing system.
(I have to ask: why did you change your wifi password?)
I have a router with two mesh AP. I have a fibre connection 250 Mbit/s. Suddenly the speed on the 2,4 GHz were down to 0,5-3 Mbit/s. The 5G worked well. Since I changed name of the network as well as password earlier due to suspected data breach, I was worried that my system was cracked again. I reinstalled the mesh nodes, changed password and both networks worked fine. But Sonos did not. I will follow your lead but I still wonder if the good old Sonos Boost is causing the problems? After Sonos catastrophic release of the new app, anything is possible. Maybe they just forgot another product.
Forgot one crucial thing. “Forget current system” isn’t an option.
Sounds like you’ve got bigger problems than Sonos - the fact your 2.4 signal has turned to crap is a clue of something seriously amiss. (Though a data breach is not where i would go first), though that won’t affect SonosNet, unless there’s a gigantic source of interference in your local 2.4Ghz neighborhood.
But I got it up and running as I wrote. But it did not help me reconnect my Sonos players/speakers.
I’m pretty sure you’re right about the problems is not a Sonos problem, it’s something else. But if other products could connect, why not Sonos?
This morning everything is crap again. In my iPhone there is a integrity warning under my network name in settings.
No sound on the tv
Slow speed
VPN goes on and off.
This is a real nightmare.
Have you tried deleting the Sonos app completely from your phone and re-installing it? That may give you the option of trying to connect to an existing system and fixing the issue.
Also on your MacBook, search for an app called ‘WiFi Explorer’. It will show if you have any nearby networks causing you interference on the WiFi. I find it quite useful.
VPN goes on and off.
This is a real nightmare.
Woah a VPN?? Yeah your network has issues, and Sonos doesn’t work with VPNs on mobile devices.
If you are using a Boost the older Sonos devices (not the Era’s or the portable ones) should be on Sonosnet. They would not be affected by the password change….
No VPN on my phone. Only on laptop and desktop Macs.
Boost is disconnected and there is only new S2-compatible players in my network.
...and since the players are visible in my network with IP-addresses I’m pretty sure there is something that’s missing in the app, not my network. And missing things in that app shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Like George in Seinfeld expressed it: I’m back, Baby! I’m back!
What was the problem? A very smart home but a stupid guy.
Fiddling with the network (router) I used a switch which gave 2,4 and 5 GHz the same name and it let’s your network units chose the best option by itself. A lot of stuff here don’t run on 5 GHz here but are they once connected it seems to run anyhow. But the initiial connection is crucial.
So I’m back to two different network names and Sonos is there again.
Now I hope they get there act together and fix the problem with the music library and playlists.
Anyhow: thanks for your efforts.
