I brought my Sonos play one from the US to Thailand I reset it connected it to a new network and everything looked good. But it won’t play anything including radio, SoundCloud, audible, Amazon music. Nothing. Says unable to add track or the music is encoded incorrectly. 
 

does that mean I cannot use it here or os there a trick to make it work?

I had no issues several years ago using a PLAY:1 in Bangkok. 

There’s not much information to go on in your post, but I’d certainly start with a simple reboot of your router. Then, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it, or post the number here.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, there are more options available beyond just the diagnostic analysis.
