I am considering switching my Connect Line-out level from fixed to variable but then I noticed Pass-Through. What does that do?

BTW my Connect is attached to a Yamaha receiver which drives my Mirage (non powered) bookshelf speakers.

Thank you

Hi mich8261

Pass through is a feature in Yamaha (maybe others) that will allow audio and/or video to be sent from a source to a receptor while the Yamaha is in stand-by. For instance you connect a DVD player to the Yamaha and activate pass through for the HDMI port going to the TV; in theory you could enjoy video on the TV and use it's speakers to control volume all while the Yamaha is in stand-by.

However, I would assume that the Connect is using the speakers wired to the Yamaha and therefore Pass Through (for audio) would not work when the Yamaha is in stand-by:?

Cheers!
