This is more like a feature request :)
It would be nice to have a device like the Sonos Port but with HDMI input. A Sonos Amp without amplifier or a Port with HDMI input :)

FYI, just adding an HDMI port to the Port doesn’t quite get you there. Currently, the Port can’t bond with other devices they way speakers in a home theatre bond. That means that any audio coming into the Port will be buffered for multiroom streaming, and your TV sound will behind the video. So you would want that addressed as well.
And if you’re going that far, no need to stop at just stereo, why not ask for a full 5.1 system or more? Others have made similar suggestions, sometimes calling the new device a ‘super connect’. Sonos has never hinted that they would do this though, nor is there reason to think there’s that much of a market for such a device...unfortunately. Doesn’t hurt to keep asking though.
