Question

Sonos One Exterior: how to clean the white plastic with all the holes?

The two Ones have been set at the edge of the kitchen, so after being there a couple of years, they have stains. What is the best way to clean the stains? I would worry about getting liquid inside the holes and damaging the electronics. Let me know how you have cleaned yours: what cleaner and what technique you used.

First a careful dusting with canned air.

Then a couple drops of mild dish soap on the smooth, then fuzzy side of a nearly dry / barely damp microfiber rag. You want anything outside off first, then to reach into the holes a bit.

If you have hard water use distilled water, NOT bottled spring or drinking water as they are often worse than tap water.

Still crud in the holes? A dry --  extra soft -- toothbrush gently applied and another rag wipe.

Let them dry then go back with the fuzzy side of a dry microfiber rag and give them a good rub.

Follow with one last canned air cleaning.

Most important, get a set of speaker covers, SoundSkins, homemade, whatever and don't gunk them up again.

I think the key in @Stanley_4 ‘s post is to apply the cleaner to the cleaning towel, and not to spray anything on the speaker.

I’d avoid spraying any cleaner directly onto the speaker. A slightly damp microfiber cloth with a little mild soap solution usually works well for the exterior, and for the perforations, a soft brush or dry toothbrush can help lift grime without pushing moisture inside. Just make sure the speaker is unplugged while cleaning and let it dry completely before powering it back on.
