trueplay does a great job adjusting the mid and high frequencies but not the same with the bass, which is diluted in the mix prioritizing the mids and highs. Although the improvement is slight because the speaker that incorporates the sonos roam is very small and does not have the help of a passive radiator to improve the bass which cannot compete with the same size speaker from the competition.
In my opinion the configuration of the sonos roam should have been like that of the sonos play3 but more compact and with passive radiators since its sealed configuration does not give it the necessary water to generate better bass if we cannot see a soundlink mini with 2 small speakers generating better bass than roam.
I will try a flip 6 to compare the bass to see how it goes.
better bass with trueplay off and better battery performance with mic off
