Using Legacy and Modern products together

Yesterday’s stance seems to have softened with a suggestion that we will be able to use Legacy and Modern products together, but we won’t know how until May. In marked contrast to Sonos, Amazon are pro-customer so I have a window within which I can return my new Beam for a full refund. I bought it on what are now false grounds that it would enhance my existing Sonos system. Can you guarantee that the interop will work, or do I send it back?
