I’m considering to install 2 Play 5 speakers on my penthouse outdoor area. It a 30 sqm covered area, and 35 sqm open area. The speakers will be protected from rain, but we experience hot and humid summers. I don’t want a Wired’s solution, and i want to operate them through my other Sonos products throughout my apartment.

Is there any better solutions than Play 5 covering the above mentioned conditions.

In the Sonos Range the Play 1 and Play 5 (Gen2) are classed as suitable for indoor humid conditions, such as bathroom and kitchen. They are not suitable for outdoor but as they are covered and protected from rain you will have to make a judgement call.

Other option is a connect amp inside wired to two outdoor (waterproof) specific speakers.
If the units will be shielded from rain, then the temperature specs rule:

Operating Temperature 32º to 104º F (0º to 40º C)

Storage Temperature -4º to 158º F (-20º to 70º C)

Storage Temperature applies when the unit is not powered.
