I got a Play 5 recently and have been trying to play from my record player on it via aux, I'm currently living in the dorms at uni and am unable to connect to wifi to enable auto-play. I only want to use my speaker through my aux so I refuse to spend $50 on a travel router and never use it, my last option I believe is to use my hotspot from my phone to get the speaker setup and on autoplay so I can listen through aux but it hasn't been working and fails to connect and I need help getting it setup through hotspot.

You’ll need a second device - see here 

 

The record player will, I think, need to have a pre-amp to give an appropriate signal for the Aux connection.
