Sonos 5 hissing while in standby mode

My 3.5 year old Sonos 5 (gen 1) has started a hissing and fizzing noise when in standby. Utterly annoying. It's like having perpetual tinnitus therefore it's now permanently switch off.

Got in touch with Sonos "support" their answer
more or less "just buy a new one". They were totally disinterested. Offering no repair service at all.

3.5 year of light use at £350, I'm sorry but that isn't value for money in my book.

It feels like "We've had your money now piss off".

Shame on you Sonos.
