With the current discount promotion on the play:1 I was thinking about getting a couple for my bathrooms. But then I saw the magic words "or while supplies last" at http://www.sonos.com/en-au/shop/play1.html. A discount + end of production is what Apple do when they want to clear stock ahead of a revised model. Are Sonos doing the same with the Play:1 ahead of a gen2? It is three years old now although still a great design. So unless a refresh is definitely not pending I will hold off my purchase. Probably not what their marketing department intended...

I am experiencing interference with my Sonos Play 5 system (music has static, interference, or stops completely)

I recently purchases a Sonos Play 5 system, and am experiencing interference. My router/bridge is located in another room. Music will play fine for extended periods, but then suddenly there can be interference (static, skips, gaps in playing, or stopping altogether), even when other wireless devices are not in use. If I am unable to solve/address this problem, I am considering returning my Sonos Play 5

Hi there, I am new to Sonos. One of my setup is a stereo paired Play3 with Sub. Appreciate any feedbacks/views on a stereo paired Play3 orientation. 1. Is there any difference between horizontal or vertical? 2. For a vertical orientation, any difference if both speakers are placed with the Sonos logo inwards or outwards? Many thanks!

Linking my sound system to sonos wireless speaker

So my home system is currently set up with a wireless router downstairs and a sound system upstairs.  My sound system is basically a Yamaha amplifier with various speakers and other audio visual equipment connected to it as well as a laptop with all my Itunes music on it.   I can access my itunes music library on my laptop through my smartphone or ipad (via wi-fi) from anywhere around the house and also control the volume through this however to enjoy music downstairs or in the bedrooms I have to put up the volume in the living room considerably and still not giving the desired effect therefore I ask: Would it be possible to link a SONOS speaker to this type of system so that I can transmit music either directly from my amp to the wireless speakers so that wherever I place the speaker around the house it will play the same music that is playing on my sound system without me needing to raise the volume too high in the living room?   Alternatively would it be possible to l

Alarms/ Alerts for favourite radio shows...

Hi everyone I raised this with Sonos directly a while back, and it was suggested I post it here for feedback. I wondered if it would be possible to set up an alert for favourited radio shows on Tunein radio. That way I wouldn't have to miss the start of the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show thanks to my terrible memory, as the Sonos app would remind me that it was due to start in a few minutes! Would this be of any use to anyone else, and is there any way to suggest it as a future feature? Cheers Adam

I have Play 5s in several bedrooms. I was thinking about adding a Play1 for two bathrooms. As I've read about pairing Play 1s for stereo playback, I'm wondering if anyone has a view about whether they would rather listen to one play 5 in a room or a pair of play 1s?

Music is playing intermittently though... how can I solve - don't want to use cable as this defeats the purpose ... have tried moving bridge - doesn't work.

I have 2 play:1, 1 play:5 and 1 connect and the bridge. I have been using all of them without problems for a long time. Now suddenly the two play:1 are not shown in the controller. Led white light and intermittent. Thanks for help

Perhaps I just can't see them but I am surprised there are not more posts about the recent sales. I have netted 7 more zones in the last few weeks thanks to the sales. I've added to my garage, three bedrooms, another office and stereo in a media room. How about you?

Line in for Play1 and Play3

First post. I very recently purchased a Play3 unit I was weighing up the pro's and con's of a Play3 vs a Play5. Play3 had the looks, price and size going for it. Play5 had the superior sound and line in socket in its favour. This latter feature, the line in socket, was a particular issue for me as without it I think my CD collection will go the same way as my vinyl collection went, stored and then got rid of if I do not keep playing them. My eventual buying decision was to go for the less expensive Play3 and park the CD issue. If I am happy with Play3 I may well purchase the Play5 at a future date. My feedback to SONOS is - with the switch to streaming there will be many like me who have 100's if not 1000's of CD's and even if they are all available on services like Spotify, they will still want to keep their cherished CD collection and be able to play them. Surely installing a 3.5mm line in socket in the Play3 and Play1 is not such a big ask and would be seen as a generous

No progress on key features

So here we are 10 years after Sonos was introduced, library limit is still 65k tracks, no ability to stream 24 bit or DSD. Very very weak. Unfortunately there is not a better alternative -- but as we saw with the death of the squeezebox, this won't continue forever.

BOSE SoundDock II

Does anyone have a ZP90 hooked up to the aux input on a bose sound dock II? If yes, does it automatically power on when u hit play on the sonos? And does the volume change with the sonos remote or would the bose be controlling that? I recently purchased a sonos bundle and I am very pleased with it. I just want to be able to have an easy setup in the spare bedroom when guests stay. I like the idea of having a system in there where they can charge their ipod/iphone, play music off their own unit or choose to play from my catalog. Does anyone have a setup like this? I dont really want to go for a multi-speaker setup in here, there are many reasons which i won't go into. I like the idea of a ZP90 feeding an all in one unit like the sound dock. But have the auto power on and have sonos control the volume. Am I asking too much? Thanks. Thanks.

I keep adding songs to my queue but I can't find the queue to edit it, delete songs, replay it. It seems like a stupid question seeing as on the old Sonos app it was so easy. Any help would be great.

Play:1 as a bedside speaker

Does anyone have comment on using a Play:1 as a bedside speaker? I've had a few clock radios with screens that are too bright or volume that can't be adjusted to a level suitable for nodding off. The Play:1 would seem to fit the bill, with the sleep and alarm functions. I have seen some previous posts about the challenge of adjusting volume at low levels. I already enjoy my two Play:5s and a Playbar... and am wondering if a Play:1 would work well next to my bed. Thank in advance, Dave

Sonos doesn't like Eero?

I just replaced my ASUS router with an Eero mesh network. On the "base" Eero, I plugged in a switch that is used to enable my in-wall ethernet network. I have another switch in a different room where I have other devices hardwired to my network. On that switch is a BOOST. That's the only Sonos product hardwired to my network. When I enabled the Eero mesh network, the Sonos network went dark. I power cycled that switch and the BOOST was able to be added to the iOS controller. I was resigned to adding all my zones one by one again. Unfortunately, they're not wanting to be added. Literally the only physical change to my network was the Eero router(s). I did not change the network configuration at all (i.e. same SSID, etc.). Anyone know what might be happening?

YouTube through Line-In and Cut Outs

I really hope one day Sonos will add YouTube for audio only as an added service. But the issue that I am having is by using my Line-In I get periodic cut outs / silence when music is playing. I have switched speakers for the line-in with the same results. I have also switched the channel to all three but again the same results. I have also tried using a PC, Tablet and Phone with the same issues. Does anyone have any thoughts or similar issues using the Line-In and cut outs?

Hi Just added a Sonos 1 to my Sonos 3 put it on the landing went through all the set up, I am getting no sound my Sonos 1, my Sonos 3 is playing fine any advice would be appreciated. Regards Paul
