Hi all, I'm new at this forum. I have just bought a play 5 2 gen, and I already have 5 play 1. In my living room/kitchen I alteady have 3 play 1 installed, and now I added a play 5 for more deep bass which it provide :). But when I group these 4 speakers it seems like the sound level is lower on the play 5, even thou they have the same volume level. It's like I have to give the play 5 10% more on the volume scale, to even it out. Are there any good explanation to this, or other who have experienced the same ?
Hello I just purchased & installed a Play 3 (like it very much) my question: when not i use, is it beneficial to disconnect the power AC ? would that prolong the life of the amp ? The bridge is also "ON" constantly. I prefer not to leave my components on all the time. What is your opinion ?
Hi Hopefully someone can help, I am trying to set up my Onkyo av receiver with Sonos connect and a play:5. Id like to be able to play all my music from Onkyo and have the play 5 in a separate room playing the the same music as amp. Hope someone can help
Hi, I have recently purchased a Sony KD55-XD8599 tv and have setup the Sonos Playbar and 2 Play:1 speakers to provide the surround sone. Everything is working perfectly except for the annoying out of sync volume message which still shows up on the tv. I have heard you can disable this on the tv. Can you please let me know how? Thanks in advance, Jose
My wife has been very resistant to any audio equipment in the formal living room, decorated in a french style. She really warmed up to the idea of the Sonos in the living room once she heard sound quality with the easy to use informative remote without seeing too much equipment. Hear is the dilemma; she wants pretty speakers for the living room they can be floor standing to mid size. I would prefer something that is elegant as opposed to be trying too hard to be inconspicuous. Budget probably ~$1500 USD. I know it is probably too low for really elegant speakers. Any suggestions?
We are currently using a Sonos Bridge and Connect to play Napserr through our stereo system. I have just added a Play (as a different room) so we can play music in another room and whilst the Sonos app can see the Play 1 when we put music on it only came through the usually stereo system. I then connected to the wi-if network and now we have music through the Play 1 but no music through the stereo system. Please can someone advise me how to get it all to work together.
Bought a new Play 5 from best buy, had the security tabs in place and was wrapped inside. I noticed the rubber feet on the right side are worn, they have shiny spots, looks like it has been standing on that side. Do other people's units have this? Is from standing during assembly or is it possible it was a used unit that has been refurbished and put back in the box? Thanks
Hi everyone... I have a sonos Play 1. I don't have a television. I have a iMac and Macbook pro on which I watch netflix and listen to my music which has been downloaded. Why is this not as easy as casting with chromecast? Why aren't there plugins for your browser? This is insane! Okay... now that I'm done b*tching.... I've been through a heap of these entries but haven't found anything. Has a solution been found yet? One that doesn't require a degree in electrical engineering? I'm going to return it if I have to rig it like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrYNFlsfBYk

Hi all. I finally got a Sonos 3, it's sounding great. I'm wanting to connect it to my TV and wondering how it can be done. My setup is TV with various streaming services via my PS4. I purchased an Echo Dot recently and really like how it works with my Bluetooth speakers. I'm looking to have Sonos 3 in living room and want to work out how I can set it up with my TV. Is there a way I can take a line out my TV to a wireless router and add it to the Sonia Network? Can this be done with a Sonos Bridge? Or is there a way I can take a line out TV and wireless connect to Echo Dot and then back to my Sonos speaker? An easy and quick fix would be much appreciated. Cheers
Hello, my wifi network won't show up during the set up and it is working fine otherwise and is the appropriate speed. We have hooked the sonos play 1 up using the ethernet cable provided, however we can't seem to get the network to show up through the app during set up. Any help would be great! It's our first sonos and we just got it so perhaps it's a silly mistake?
Hi guys, I just bought my first PLAY:3. I want to make the sound in the room fuller (more surrounding) and im looking for a recommendedation about what would be the ideal addition to the PLAY:3 First option: Get another pair of PLAY:3, so i will have 2 of them, as a stereo Second option: Get 2 PLAY:1, and have in the room the PLAY:3 (in front, TV area) and the 2 PLAY:1's on the sides of the room. Like this: Note that im not planning the buy the PLAYBAR, i will use my sonos products for streaming music. The room itself is about 30sqm Thanks!
Hi there, wondering if anyone has tried their Australian-purchased Play 1 and Play 3 in the USA. Moving there in a month and wondering if it will still work okay? I have seen a couple of posts about going from UK to USA, but none about Australia to USA. I am presuming the voltage is universal and I will just need to get a socket adapter for the power source? Can I just buy new wires? It looks like they are pretty hard-wired into the speakers so not easily swapped out?
I have the Playbar and 2xPlay:1 set up as surround sound, this works great for tv but when playing music I would like the Play:1s to revert to standalone or stereo, but it appears the only way to do this would be to ungroup them. It would be good to see a software driven update to this issue to make switching between modes simpler. Just wondering how many others would like to see this implemented. Thanks
Hello, I am NOT and audiophile, however, I listen a lot of music, I think vinyl is neat and I'd like to have the option. Yes, I know it is sacrilege, but I do not need the geek level of fidelity of analog. Just humor me... I'd love to play vinyl, but cannot spend and additional fortune to buy a extra components. All my research tells me to I need a connect:amp or connect. Why cant I just audio-Y wire a turntable with a built-in preamp to my Smart TV and use it as an alternate device to play to my jams? Wouldn't this circumvent the $400-500 purchase? Thanks. Yes I am dumb. JLt
Hi folks. New to Sonos but enjoying it so far. Easy set up but have one question regarding my Play 5. The volume controls on the Play 5 work as expected with my iPhone, iPad, and other music services. However, I'm using the line in cable from my Sony Bravia to get better sound out of our TV. There's a tremendous discrepancy between volume levels when I run the line in vs my other audio sources. I have to really crank the iPhone or TV remote volume controls in order to have even moderate sound levels from the TV. Any ideas on potential setting issues in either the Sonos app or my Sony Bravia sound preferences? Thanks!
