I have installed a new router and tried to set up using one of my play 1's. I went through all the steps but when I selected wireless setup it gave me an error message. Any ideas why? It's not the frequency. My controller now only sees that play 1 and not the soundbar or other play1. How can I troubleshoot this? Thanks
I have 2 play1 speakers and a connect on my system. The first play1 and connect always appear on the system when I try and play music. The second play1, having set it up later, now never appears in sonos when I turn on. It used to let me add it again (already an annoyance) but now it won't even let me do that. The light on the speaker is solid white or flashes red. Please advise how to sort this so it remains within the system at all times. Tha ks
Listened to all the major brands before purchasing, and for me, Sonos is far superior especially for clarity and dynamic range! Spent hours over the holidays listening to my favourite music and discovering (hearing) aspects of songs that I never knew existed. If you like jazz and want to showcase the speakers - try Cyrus Chestnut - Earth Stories. Just amazing!
I purchased one of each of the play:1 and the play:3 to do a comparison before investing in more speakers. I was surprised that the low volume bass of the play:1 seems to be punchier than the play:3. Of course, the play:3 has more clarity, and once you increase the volume, the bass improves over the play:1. But, I do most of my listening at lower volumes, where the play:1's bass sounds better to me. This surprises me because I thought the play:3 had two low-range drivers vs the one in the play:1. Have others noticed the same thing, or do I have something setup incorrectly? I have played with the eq settings.
Trying to set up a new Sonos 5 using Apple Mac laptop and BT Home Hub router 3. Sonos does not connect. Will not recognise the router Password. Everything else works on WiFi, but not Sonos, even when placed right next to the router. The router is not 5Hz, so should be okay. Sonos will also not connect using ethernet cable. Have checked the Firewall on the laptop and Sonos is enabled. Have tried switching router on and off. No good. What else can I try? Cannot get through to Sonos on customer service telephone lines either in Britain or Germany. No reply yet to email sent yesterday.
My sonos 1 that i have had for 2 yrs just stopped working. I didn't drop it or anything, it just stopped working. No power light flashing or anything so it mast be a hardware problem. What can be done? I tried different wall sockets but it just doesn't work
Does playbar actually work with television content. I have previously tried to connect television audio to the auxiliary device on my sonos system and the buffering creates a lip sync issue. I always assumed that Sonos buffered in order to maintain adjusted synchronization between devices.
I have a covered porch and can mount a play 3 where it would be completely impossible for it to get wet. i would also bring it indoors in the fall and remount it in the spring so that it did not have exposure to the elements during the really cold months (live in Chicago). any reason to think i would be doing damage to the speaker with this setup? thanks!
Hey guys. Not terribly tech savvy, but I get by. Hopefully I can convey my issue enough to get me going in the right direction. I've got a fairly old (8-10yrs?) Samsung LN-T4042H, I've got my Playbar set up and connected - but have no sound. If I'm understanding my manual properly, my TV is able to output 5.1 sound (again, if I'm following along properly, I need this?) I have no cable or satellite box. I have an Apple TV in one HDMI port, and an Xbox 360 in the other. I'm able to stream music through the Playbar, and control the volume with my TV remote. Based on a few other threads I've been reading, I have a suspicion but I could still be way off base. I feel like my lack of connection is getting lost somewhere between the optical cable and the 2 HDMI ports I'm using, does this sound right? Obviously the end goal is to have everything through the TV play through the Bar - my second issue may be that everything I have is old tech - Xbox 360 & the previous gen Apple TV. Any thou
Hi, When you connect to the line-in connector of a Play 5 in a stereo pair, am I right to assume that the Play 5 is recording the line-in (ADC), streaming it to the second Play 5 which is decoding it back (DAC) ? If this is is the case, isn't there a loss of quality ? Basically this would also mean that using any external DAC (even the best one) connected to line-in would not change the sound quality... Regards.
I have finally gotten around to performing a side by side test of my Play 5 gen 2 to a Play 1. I am really surprised but with my ears, I was hard pressed to tell a significant difference!! While the Play 5 sounds slightly richer, the Play 1 really holds its own even in the bass department. So much so I am considering returning the 5 and replacing it with a 1! Really goes to show what a great piece of kit the Play 1 is. Just my 2 cents.
My Sonos Play 5 is connected to my TV with the AUX-cable. It autostarts playing when im turning on my TV - which is great! The problem is that when the TV is turned on, Sonos suddenly will automatically stop playing the sound from the TV, so i have to take my iPhone and start "playing" again. How can this be fixed? It is VERY annoying!
What I would like to do is add a connect and two Play 1 units to serve as rear speakers for my Cambridge Audio analog amplifier and wired front speakers. This means that I would like to connect the Connect to the analog pre-out of my amplifier and play my cd's through my wired speakers and through the Play 1 units simultaneously. It would seem to me that this is possible. Who of you has done something like this? What I am wondering about is the volume control. Will the volume of the Play 1 units vary with the volume of the pre amp out? Thanks in advance for your advise.
I see there are 92 articles on Amazon Echo here in the SONOS community. Has anyone from SONOS responded? Does SONOS have any intent to support Amazon Echo integration? I can't imagine anyone not wanting that. It feels like that is just how SONOS should work. We love our SONOS system but we keep finding ourselves using the lesser quality Echo just because it's easier. I wish I could use my SONOS system as my speaker and my ECHO as the controller (unless of course my SONOS could just do the same thing). I can't imagine how anyone will beat ECHO for speed and quality of response. Not even SIRI can compete with our Amazon Echo experience. If I have to I will replace my SONOS system with a bunch of ECHO's but I would never want to do that. Not even because of the investment I have already made with SONOS. I would buy a whole new SONOS system if I could have the AMAZON ECHO controller. Are there any representatives of the SONOS company in this community? Can I even wish for true Integr
