Question

Share 3rd party sub and set of speakers with both sonos and receiver?

Userlevel 2
In my living room I have a 5.1 surround system with in-wall powered sub and in-ceiling standard rear surround speakers. I have a Connect that plays through the aux inputs but don't like having to turn on the whole system, select the correct input and adjust the receiver volume to match the adjoining sonos kitchen zone. What I would like is to wire the rear speakers and in-wall sub such that they can used by either the receiver or a Connect:amp. I tried connecting a connect:amp to the 2 rear surrounds at the same that they are wired to the receiver but an orange light flashes on the connect:amp and wont allow me to play to them. Also unsure how I would connect the sub out from the connect:amp and the receiver sub out to the in-wall sub at the same time.  Any suggestions welcomed!

You need something like this to share the speakers between the 2 sources

something like this could be used to manual switch the Sub (assume it has an RCA type connection going to it not speaker level)

For sub, I think this one switches RCA based on signal coming in

thanks for this idea too, I think that the auto-switcher from speakercraft would be the way I'd go.

cheers,

Bruce.
