Play 5 and Sub?

Interested in people’s opinions on whether a new Sub is worth getting with a pair of the new Play 5s?

Personally I’m replacing my older play 3s with two new play 5s. I have an existing sub in that room.

I’m also buying for a friend and I’m thinking 2 play 5s plus a Sub. Will the sub improve the sound. I’m thinking it has to but interested in people’s experience. these are the new generation speakers of course.

thanks for any advice.

Hi @Kimbo.

Welcome to the Sonos community and thanks for reaching out to us.

I think the majority would support the statement that the situation may still depend on how big the room where you are going to place the Play 5 into and as well as your preference on how you will find the audio quality of the paired Sonos Play 5 with or without the Sub. I would suggest, if the devices are going to be purchased off from a friend, try it out first before making that purchase so you can listen to first hand what’s the difference between the 2 setups.
