I have recently been given a turntable (Audio Technica LP3) which I run through a Marantz NR1509 surround 5.1. I would like to divorce the 5.1 speakers and utilise a couple of Play:1’s I have sitting around purely for playing records.

What exactly do I need to do this and how do I hook it up? I am looking for the most cost effective way including buying an old Sonos Connect if that’s all I need.

No jargon please, just a list of the minimum I require and how to connect it.

The turntable and speakers will sit together like a traditional HiFi system.

Cheers, David

A CONNECT would do the trick, hook it up as you would a tape deck.

A perfect reply. Thank you Bruce.

PS what I wouldn’t give for my old tape deck back.

Laugh. We are indeed cursed by living in interesting times. The inevitable march of technology forces us to learn new things.

On the other hand, there’s a lot of things I can do now that would have been unheard of when I was born.
