Hi All,

My mother still has a Jukebox Sony CD Player CDP-CX250 connected to active speakers. In terms of outputs, it has a line out (max. level of 2V) and a digital optical output (-18 dBm).

What would be the simplest way to integrate it in a Sonos system? Do I need a Amp or just a Play:5?

Thanks in advance,

I have never looked up the actual voltage of “line level”, but I think she would be fine with a PLAY:5 and the line in it has.

In order to use the optical out on that Sony, you would need a Sonos device with an optical input, which is the sound bars. Or use a digital to analog converter to get output switched to something a normal analog input could read.
