Hi, I have a few Sonos Ports to control in ceiling speakers in different parts of the house. Right now I have a few small amps but would like to consolidate that into one multi zone amp that can control 4 different inputs and outputs independently. Any recommendations on an amp?

I’ll not recommend a specific model, but your request is not quite typical. Make sure that the amplifier has a 12V trigger input for each zone or zones that will each trigger on audio input. I prefer the 12V trigger because it avoids lagging trigger on tracks that start quietly. If there is only one 12V trigger for the whole amplifier it is possible to consolidate the PORT triggers with an external network of diodes.

I’d try contacting Crutchfield, they sell a lot of Sonos and have a free design service that could be a good place to start.

They sell a number of 8 channel units with 12 volt triggers. They go up to 16 channels.
