Advice on a pair of Roams to add to existing Playbar

I’ve currently got a playbar, and planning to add additional speakers as I now have a bigger place.

Was going to get 2 x Roams but have some questions hoping to get help with  🤞

Can they be configured to create surround sound set up with playbar?
if so, can they also be used independently in another room if you take them mobile?

thanks for any help

You can’t use Roams (or Moves) as surround speakers.

For a list of speakers which can be used, see https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4807

Thanks a million Ratty, would a One be an option for my needs?

Can be used for Surround Sound and also used independently at other times? Or can it only be configured as a Surround?

Thx again

Ones of any type would be excellent as surround speakers.

In general, Sonos speakers are dedicated at set up to a single style of use. You can relatively easily set them up for individual use, instead of surround duty, but it is a bunch of keystrokes, and you lose any TruePlay setup you may have done to the ‘room’. Probably three minutes of effort each time you switch between individual and surround use, not something I’d be eager to do.
