After trying with limited success in integrating Alexa with home lights, I am thinking of trying again with Google Assistant. Is the GA integration through Sonos with Lutron Caseta solid? For example, can I group the lights and the Sonos so I can say "Hey Google, turn on the lights" to the Sonos One in my kitchen, and GA will turn on the lights in the kitchen? Or is it still sort of dumb, where I have to tell the kitchen Sonos "turn on the lights in the kitchen"? I don't have the Lutron Caseta swtiches - just thinking of installing them after ecobee toasted the temperature sensor function on their Swtich+.
When I play a song from Spotify online it skips for the first 5 seconds, every time. If I download the song first it doesn’t do this. Tune in and SiriusXM don’t do this either. In addition, my sonos 1 will no longer play Spotify via alexa voice commands while I can initiate play with my sonos or spotify apps. I submitted diagnostics. 1600494603.
I currently have Sonos One's 2nd Gen in my theater setup. I've been researching and pondering what speakers to put in the rest of the house. I've been endlessly changing my mind but think I'm leaning towards the Sonos One and I've seen some 1st Gens with decent prices. I do not have experience with the first Gen. Without the updated processor and internals, does GA still function fine? I only ask cause there were few posters speculating that could be one of the reasons they were updated.
I am trying to play music on my Sonos Beam using Google Assistant. I have a Spotify Premium account. When I ask assistant to play anything (song, playlist, artist) on Spotify, it initially says "sure, playing xxx" and then after a pause says, "sorry, the requested media content isn't available for your Spotify premium tier". I am using an iPhone X for the setup. I've tried unlinking and relinking my Spotify account in both the Google Assistant and Sonos apps. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Google Assistant. I've tried disabling Google Assistant and then reenabling it. No dice! I was previously using Amazon Alexa with the Sonos Beam for a short time and Spotify was working fine (but I would prefer to be able to use Google Assistant for other reasons). If I try to play music using Google Assistant through the app on the iPhone, it will open Spotify and go to the correct artist but not actually play the song. Would really appreciate any suggestions.. it's driving me nuts!!
Okay, I have noticed a strange behavior: If I issue the command "*lamp name* x%" to my google home, it replies with a chime and sets that specific (Ikea tradfri) light to x% brightness. If I issue the same command to my Sonos one, It replies with a web search reply. Which is useless to me ;). I am sure that I set the Sonos up in the right google assistant/home group stuff, because when I simply say something like "turn lights on/off" it replies with a chime and does just that. Does anyone have a solution (or at least explanation) for this behavior?
I use Assistant on my Pixel 2XL. I also use it on a Sonos One, which is used by my whole household. We use Spotify for music. I originally had my Spotify account linked to my Google account on the Sonos, but quickly found that if someone else used the Sonos while I was listening to Spotify elsewhere (like at work), then my music would stop. To fix this, I created a house Google account, and linked that Assistant to the Sonos. Then I created a house Spotify account, and linked that account to my house Google Assistant. This works great, no problems. Now I am trying to link Tile to my Google account, so I can ask the Assistant on the Sonos to find my Tile items. This is more difficult. I set up my house Google account on an old, unused Android phone. I am able to link Tile to that account. But since Tile needs Bluetooth, I can't use Tile on Sonos unless that old phone is turned on and in range of the Tile items. I don’t really want to have that old phone sitting around, chargi
I have 3 Sonos one’s, 2 are working fine but one is really glitchy. If I ask Alexa a question sometimes it responds perfectly but other times only the first and maybe last couple of words are audible with a pause in between. If I look in the Alexa app I can see it has understood and thinks it has responded normally. Or sometimes Alexa doesn’t respond at all and after a pause there’s a buzzing noise. I also find this speaker occasionally disappears from the app and I have to unplug and re-plug it for it too be found. Can anyone offer me any advise? Thanks!
Currently - I have a number of Sonos speakers. I play my own music off a Mac Mini and various radio and streaming services. I change up various room configurations/groupings as needed. I also have a few Homekit items and use Siri. Want - to be able to use Siri to control my Sonos system, as much voice control as I can. I understand I’ll need a Homepod or a new Sonos piece ie. a -1 or Beam I believe.Once I have this, what exactly will I be able to do, and not do I suppose, with this mixed system?
It is frustrating that Sonos does not support Amazon Prime Music yet in India. While one has paid for both Amazon and Sonos amp they are blocked for India. Wynk , Sportify are also not supported in India. Any plans to enable these? else the product is almost useless in India.
I have a playbar and two play:1’s. A few weeks ago I picked up the Ikea Symfonisk remote and it worked perfectly with my setup. Last night, my internet went out and my symfonisk remote wasn’t working. I went to set it up again and completed the setup succesfully through the ikea smart home app. However, the app still does not recognize my remote as a device. After successfully setting it up, the remote still doesn’t work and does not appear on the list of devices. I’ve tried disconnecting my account from the app, and also re- set up the ikea hub and the problem persists.
Just bought a Google home mini and got it conected to my Play 1s and Play 5. I can successfully ask it to play music in the kitchen or whatever, no problem. The only thing I can't get to work is the broadcast. The mini just says "it looks like you haven't got any devices connected". I found this post but I don't seem to have the Settings>Room Options... so I'm assuming they're talking about the newer Play Ones. So, the question is, it possible to get the home mini to broadcast to the Play 1s and Gen1 play 5? If so, how? Thanks

Hello,I am in the process of building my Sonos system across my house and am absolutely loving it. I do have a couple questions about Google Assistant support:On the Google Home, there is an option under Accessibility to play a sound once the unit has finished recognizing your command. This is in addition to the sound that plays when you say the wake word. I am blind, so this audio queue can be helpful to know when the unit has finished with my command. I suspect this may be one of those things that Google doesn’t give third-party speakers access to, but will it ever be possible to stop an alarm or timer just by saying “stop” without saying Hey Google first? This works on Google Home speakers.
