8 zones vanished. Reboot power to router, connects and modem. Opened controller and asked to add all my zones again (named zones intact) all zones returned but one. Exhausted all options still missing one. Controller has latest update.What next ....?

Likely a duplicate IP address. Unpower all Sonos devices. Reboot router while they are all unplugged, can't be done sequentially, which is inferred in your post. Once router is back up, plug in the first device (CONNECT?) that is wired to the router. Wait for it to finish booting. Once it's done, move on to the next one, doing the same thing. Work your way through all devices.
Completed and same one that disappeared is still missing
added back to system online and it worked. It was like it was a brand new device and renamed-All good thanks
