Unable to factory reset play 5 gen 2

Just picked up two brand new (supposed to be) play 5 gen 2 from the shops and it seems like one of them has already been set up prior. Solid white light so I can't add it to my existing system.
I have been trying to reset it but it doesn't work. I unplugged the device, while holding down the play/pause button I reconnected it, still holding... the light flashes white, and after about 10-15s it goes back to solid white again.
Any help on this please?

Hi EmoDevo, sounds like a problem with that unit. I'd suggest giving us a call on our support line or taking that back to the shop and swapping it out for a different one.
