Sub has stopped working - no light, just a high-pitched noise

We use our sub quite infrequently. Yesterday I switched it on and all looked fine, but I couldn't find it on my Sonos app to actually use it.

Today, there's no light and all I can hear is a whining noise coming from within the sub. When I cut the power, the noise carries on for about 5 seconds then gets progressively higher and then dies out.

What's happened? It's only a couple of years old and has never even moved!

A switched mode power supply sounds unhappy. You'll need to talk to Sonos Support. Although the SUB's outside of warranty one would hope they'd be understanding.
