Stereo not working

Hi,

 

I do own a Sonos play 5 2gen and a sonos five. I would like to create a stereo pair, but it doesn’t seems to work in the app

Are these 2 speakers not able to be in stereo mode together ? Why is that ?

“Only Sonos speakers of the same model can be paired as a stereo pair.”Just saw that on the website, i was expecting it to work with play 5 and five sice it’s basically the same model..

Yes it’s a surprise. Also the Sonos Five only works on S2. 
one plus point is that there’ll always be a good second hand market for the Gen2 Play 5s.

And a market for third party apps that will let you pair non-identical speakers. Have a look in the App Store.
