Sonos sub won't connect to playbar

Sub used to work, then I switched the system to be on wifi instead of sonos net and then it stopped working.

Trying to get it all working again- but the sub won't connect to the playbar. I can get it to pair with a play5 nearby. I've tried wiring the sub to the router, but I still can't get it to work.

I think that I'm back on sonos net:

Hi jack hebert,

Your wired Sonos unit has lost its IP address. Is your SUB the unit connected via ethernet? It may help to reboot your router and the wired unit to get it back online.
I tried that to no luck. Now trying with a wired bridge. My sub keeps thinking that it is a playbar. Adding it to the system it wants to go through the playbar setup flow. I've also gotten the "not a sub" message when trying to add it to the playbar.

Your PLAYBAR and SUB have the same IP address. This is why the app gets confused when you're trying to set one or the other up. If rebooting your router and the speakers doesn't fix this it would be best to log in to your router and check the DHCP settings to make sure there aren't any reserved IP addresses and that there are enough IP addresses available for distribution.

Hi Jack,

My colleague Chris just replied to your question in a different thread, with what looks like a solution for your issue. Let us know how it goes. You can reply back here or in the other post.
I'm having the same issue. Sub was working, then it dropped off and now won't connect. I've unplugged playbar, sub, and surrounds, and restarted my Apple Airport. I've factory reset the sub. No luck. Any ideas?

Hi gzahnd, thanks for joining the Community and a warm welcome to you.

We'd like to get a closer look at your system so we can determine what is going on with the SUB. Can you submit a diagnostic and let us know the confirmation number?
Done. 7402769
I think we might know what's going on. Before we continue troubleshooting, is your main router a Technicolor CT1000, CT2000 or CT2100 ?
CT2100T
The next step is to make a minor modification to the settings on the CT2100T. Once you've disabled "DHCP Reservation", check if you're able to add the SUB.

Modifying the Router Settings
I changed the dchp setting. Now the controllers are stuck on the "it looks like one of your speakers could be unplugged" screen, and there's no option to add a sub. How do I bypass this screen?

Hi gzahnd,

Please make sure that there are no existing DHCP reservations still enabled on the CT2100T. If there are none, a reboot of the players should allow you to connect to everything again.
That worked. Thanks. Question: why would it work for a month and suddenly start failing in this manner?

gzahnd,

That is a good question. More than likely the setting has been enabled for a while, but the router did not reserve and make duplicate IP address until recently. Or there was a recent firmware update on the router that enabled the DHCP reservation without you knowing.
Hi, i’ve hit with the exact issue above and been trying for few days. My SUB is now can’t even connect to playbar even with the ethernet cable. Anyone can help please?

This is my diagnostic number 8188006.

Appreciate if anyone can help suggest :(
Hi everyone, really need your help!
Probably best if you were to get in touch directly with Sonos. Scroll down to the bottom of this page, and click on "Contact us"

If it is indeed a hardware failure, which would be my guess, they generally can't handle that in these boards. Try twitter or a phone call.
Finally got resolved. It was the asus modem router (RT-AC-88U) issue where one of the function need to be disabled and it works perfectly fine again :) thanks again.

Just in case if you are using the same router with me, check out the below link.
