Sonos Play:3 flashing red/white light after software update

Yesterday I downloaded the newer Sonos iOS app, and I updated my Sonos Play:3 unit (that has had no issues since purchase!). After updating, it was working fine.

However, I moved the location of the speaker, and when I powered it back on, I was met with red/white flashing lights. I’ve attempted to factory reset, but the red/white lights appear after the orange/white lights that occur during a reset.

Interestingly, I was able to successfully factory reset it once, and go through setup – but after removing it from power again, I was met with the same issue. I’ve spoken with support to ensure I’ve been resetting correctly, and they offered a 30% discount on a replacement, which frankly I’m not too keen on if a software update can brick the unit like this.

Has anyone here had a similar experience, and was able to fix the unit? Thanks!

Hi @andy12321.

Thank you for reaching out.

Looks like it might have a connection between boot failure, that's why they are offering you a 30% discount.

Can you submit a diagnostic report maybe we can find something in your Sonos device.
