Question

Sonos Arc won't close TV connection when turning TV off.

I am quite satisfied with my ARC but one problem annoys me:

When i power off my TV the ARC will not respond to Alexa voice commands. In the Sonos App the ARC is still connected to the TV so i always have to use the App when i want to start music after watching TV.

Would be much more convenient if the ARC just quits the TV connection and would go into Alexa or whatever mode.

Is there any way i can set this up?

I am using a Philips PUS49 TV, the ARC is connected via HDMI/ARC.

Greetings, Sascha

Hi @Medronio.

Welcome to the Sonos community and thanks for reaching out to us. Allow me to share some information to help.

I would like to recommend checking your TV menu to make sure the CEC option is enabled. Here is an FAQ that discusses all about how to control your TV with Alexa or the Google Assistant. Please feel free to contact your TV’s manual to check if on how to enable this option.

I hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I’ll be here to help,

Thanks,
