Sonos app on desktop PC sees zero or only random speakers on my network.

New Sonos customer; system currently consists of 3 Play: 1s all within a strong Wi-fi field. My iphone and iPad apps run perfectly, but the Sonos app on my PC sees from zero to 2 random speakers when I select it. When I set up my first speaker using the PC app, the PC saw it fine, but as soon as I disconnected the cable, it disappeared, although my iPhone never had a problem seeing it. Anyway, I can live without the PC app; just wondering if this is an easy fix someone else has come across.
