S2 app won't let me sign in

Hi All,

I’m tearing my hair out with my Sonos set up which is currently unusable.  Been in place for years, but I had the requirement to change my entire network set up.  Current situation is all my kit (3 x Play1s and Beam) are all reset to factory settings…. probably a bad idea I know….  I have the S2 app reinstalled on my iPhone.  When I select to “Add New System”, the app asks me to sign in before I can do anything….. but it won’t accept my email and password.  I get “Network Error”.  I am able to logon from my laptop… hence this post!  Plus, I downloaded the S1 app just to test and I could sign in on that app.

So is it just the S2 app with a bug that’s stopping me from proceeding?  I’m sure I didn’t have to sign in prior to adding my speakers in the past… maybe i’m wrong.

Unless I can get past this sign in issue, my speakers are just expensive ornaments.  Anyone had similar issues or got any advice?  I’ve tried the regular stuff, rebooting routers, all the Sonos kit, re-installing the app numerous times, resetting my Sonos password…. etc.

Thanks!

Does the iPhone meet the S2 App system requirements shown here:

Also perhaps see this link on using Sonos with unsupported operating systems (if it’s relevant in your case?):

HTH

You may need to work this out with support. First, here are a few things to try:

The sign-in requirements are evolving so it depends on when you installed your system.

I suggest that you power down all of the SONOS units except one. Reboot and wire this unit to your network. After this unit is working you should be able to add the remainder without much fuss. Give the S2 controller one last chance to get it’s head on straight. It could take a minute or so for the controller to discover your player.

If nothing is discovered and since we have a big mess, uninstall both controllers from your phone, reboot the phone, and install S2 only.

Try going to https://www.sonos.com/myaccount/ using a web browser. Sign-in and keep this page open while you attempt to setup your system. I’m simply speculating that this might help, but I have no way of testing this. In any case this will verify that you know your account details.

Rather than setting up a new account and system, hopefully you will be given the option of going to System → Add Product. I don’t think that the system will be too fussy about discovering that this unit has already been registered to your account.

As you have discovered, Factory Reset, rather than being the magic bullet problem solver, often makes the problem worse.
