Got a Pro-ject turntable so bought the Port for it. Then was told to get a Pre-Amp which I did. Now having the following issues

  1. if I want to play streaming like Spotify then I have to unplug the connector to the Pre-Amp
  2. there‘a a buzzing sound when all is plugged in. It  if I turn the volume really high then the buzzing sound is drowned but still there.
  3. any suggestions of what might be wrong.

thanks

Which specific turntable do you have and what preamp are you using?

Turntable is PRO-ject debut carbon EVO

Pre-Amp Pro-ject phono box mm is turntable.

thanks

Is the earthing wire of the tonearm lead connected to the screw terminal on the preamp?

I have Pro-Ject T1 turntable with built in preamp and the Sonos Port.

Personally I have not had any problem with Spotify and Port being incompatible. My Sonos Port is set up in the S2 App settings to automatically override other inputs when the turntable is activated but Spotify takes over when the turntable is shut off.

I have never heard a buzzing sound from my Pro-Ject turntable. It sounds to me like you have a bad connection.
