Play:5 (gen 2) resets name to "Speaker" despite attempts to change it's name


I have a play:5 (gen 2) and despite what name I give it, it will accept the name change and then an hour or so later it will show up on the network as "Speaker". This happens regardless of what I change the name to so there's no conflict with something else on the network. Diagnostics are: 2071342081

Any ideas?

Goto HomeKit on your Apple iOS device that you added the speaker to as an 'accessory' and rename the speaker in the HomeKit App. See if that fixes your issue.

I had the same issue. That worked! Thank you. Interesting enough it happened to my Play 5 (2nd Gen) as well.
