Out of warranty replacements

I've read a lot of posts on here in which people are stating they got a replacement out-of warranty for 25% of original cost. Well my 8yr old zp90 just bit the dust, and I got an offer to buy a new one at 72% of original cost! Is it just completely arbitrary? I would really have a lot more love for this company if they did repairs, as I imagine this is not a complicated fix, and would save a chunk of plastic going to land fill.

Remember everything is negotiable...up to a point. But you've got to ask...you may be surprised :8

Of course there's always the economic factor of "supply vs demand". Limited supply and high demand = high cost. But I'd still ask.

Seems pretty reasonable for the age. I’m sure the time past warranty plays factor in.
