No TV or Xbox sound

TV won't play sound: directv or Xbox. But I try music and it's working right now. Already reset sound bar. Reinstalled with app. Took out digital audio cable and checked it glows red. Not sure what it could be. Please help, thank you!

When you say directv or Xbox what do you mean? Are you taking the audio out directly from those boxes (I assume directv is a cable box?) or are both plugged into TV and then you are taking the audio from the TV?

In the first instance try a different optical cable and t=for both you need to ensure that the device is outputting an audio format that the Playbar can decode - Ie needs to be stereo, PCM, Dolby Digital 5.1 - If it's DTS or DD+ then you will get silence.

Welcome to the community, Elevatorbones. Can you please clarify whether or not you can get audio from any other source? The diagnostics showed some communication issues but not anything that would cause an issue getting a signal from an optical source. Do you have another cable you can test this with? Thanks in advance for the additional information provided.
