No Dolby Digital when connected to LG 65C1

Hi all,

I just changed my old LG Led55UF8507 with a brand new LG Oled 65C1 and with great surprise I cannot get Dolby Digital from my Sonos Home Theater system anymore!

I have a Playbar (connected to the TV via optical) + 2 Play1 + Sub

Basically I replicated exactly the same connection that I had on my old TV:

  • HDMI1 port: SKY set top box
  • HDMI2 (ARC): Apple TV 4K

Already checked on every device I have Dolby Digital as selected audio (same as on TV)

For every source the only audio output I get from Sonos is “Stereo PCM”

Think I tried everything so I hope you have any advice to solve this issue

Thanks

Best regards

Chris

Can you post your exact current TV audio settings?

Hi,

TV audio settings are the following:

  • Audio Output -- > Optical Out
  • Advanced:
    • Audio DTV settings -→ Dolby Digital

Also tried to uncheck “Dolby Atmos” option but did’t help

Thanks

Try these TV settings:

DTV Audio Setting: Auto

Digital Sound Out: Pass through

eARC: Off

Is there an HDMI Audio Input setting?

You made it, GuitarSuperstar!

I couldn't find those options when “Optical Out” was selected, so I had to change it back to “TV Speaker” to set Pass Through and eARC: off.

Then set again “Optical Out” and now Dolby Digital is back!

Thank you so much!

Brilliant support
