LG OLD and Sonossoundbar

With my soundbar connected via an optical cable to my LG OLED TV I have tried the many combinations of soundbar manufacturer (LG mysteriously don't give Sonos as an option) and remote type without success and can't get my LG Magic remote to control my Sonos soundbar sound (other than making sound in the test mode), which makes me think it must possible. Any suggestions gratefully received please
Thanks

Which Sonos soundbar do you have? What's the TV model number? With an optical connection, you usually do not have to specify the soundbar manufacturer in the TV setup anywhere. You should just be able to specify that you're using external speakers. You may also need to set the audio format to Dolby Digital if that's in the settings.

As far as the magic remote, did you see this support document?
