I am unable to update my music library. I have successfully updated many times but when I go to Manage, the 'update music library now' is not highlighted, so I cannot activate it. I have restarted computer, reset the sonos controller and still will not work. Anyone have any suggestions? Greatly appreciated, Lesley
I have been very happy using Sonos. Apart from the connection to the Internet, I have 2 stereo sets connected and a Play5. Just recently my IPad is unable to get connected and on starting it every time asks for "Install new SONOS system" or "connect to existing system" I have de-installed the app, tried to reset all devices but still am not able to get connected. Please advise on getting my SONOS friend up and running again
I have a new Router/Modem from Comcast (Arris TG1682G) that I can't connect to my Playbar. I've tried using the ethernet cable, reseting the Playbar and modem, but it doesn't connect. After several attempts to add the playbar I was actually able to add my Sub and two Play1, so I know Sonos is connecting to my wireless. I did read that this router is not compatible and the solution states: "Wire only one Sonos player or BOOST to the router, or network switch that is connected to the router. Players can also be configured in a daisy chain of Ethernet wiring if necessary. Alternatively, you can setup your Sonos in a Standard Setup." I'm not exactly sure what this means or how to do this.
I have used a NAS as the source for all my music for several months without issue. I recently moved my music folder to a new NAS on the same network subnet but after setting up the relevant 'share' my Sonos system will only load a small percentage of the music folder. All permissions are the same as my previous NAS ('everyone' has full access) and the Sonos can browse to sub-folders in my music directory which it won't subsequently load unless i specifically load the single folder. My Sonos system still loads the original NAS music share OK but no matter how may times i delete and re-add the new share the same small amount of music folders appear.
I recently moved. My itunes music library disappeared disappeared from my Sonos list of music sources. When I try to add it back, Sonos returns a message that it cant' find 'xxxx' computer. Well, 'xxxx' isn't my computer. Did some setting change?
We've had Sonso in our office for months and have not been able to get it to work consistently at all. We have 8 Play 5's with 2 Subs. We have set up a dedicated Wifi network just for the Sonos. Nothing but the Sonos speakers and the computer running the SONOS app are on this network. Here are the issues - During the day, the speakers constantly drop out. At night when none is here, they work pretty well. - Also, during the day the SONOS controller also "looses connection to server" and stops playing music (even music locally on the computer) and will go back to the beginning of the playlist. - Sometimes we are unable to add all the speakers to the main group. - Sonos looses connection to Spotify and Tune In radio even if the web browser can connect - - Controller freezes constantly. I tried rebuilding the system. Updated all the software on all speakers last night. Problem just seemed to get worse. I submitted a report today - the ref number is: 4983701
Approx. 1-2 month ago Spotify started to disconnect to SONOS. However, SONOS will play a spotify playlist for maybe 15-30 minutes and then it disconnects. Furthermore, I can't connect right away but have to wait for quite some time (> 15-30 minutes) in order to be able to reconnect. Until that time the spotify play lists have been working perfectly, but this is driving me nuts now. Anyone with a solution? Thanks in advance and have a nice day. o:)
I have installed the Sonos Controller app on my Windows 7 computer, but when I attempt to add my Music folder I get the following error: Sonos was unable to add the music folder Reason: Unable to add the shared folder "\\Computer\Music" to your music library (1002). I have tried connecting to other shares without success.
I have attached 2 play 1 speakers to my new playbar. I am getting no sound from either of the play 1 speakers, either in tv mode watching a 5.1 source or in music mode. When I stop the play 1 speakers from being surround sound speakers from the playbar I can play through the play 1's without a problem. The sonos speakers are all wireless - connect to the router via a sonos bridge. When connected as surround sound speakers I have set the TV and Music volumes to maximum and set the music setting to FULL. When the speakers are connected the mute and volume buttons on the play1's do control the volume of music coming out of the playbar, but the play1's themselves are completely silent. I also have a pair of play 3 speakers which I also tried with the same result. Any suggestions? :(
I am very frustrated! i set up the Sonos Connect yesterday and easily set up to my iphone and added my music services. today i need to set up the Connect to work with my PC so my employees may play the music when I am not here. I have made sure that they are both on the same wifi network, but my PC does not recognize the Connect. Any ideas?
Hi, Just installed a new Play bar with a sub and we seem to have trouble being able to us it to its full potential, every time we change the channel the bar mutes, change volume mute and then un-mutes when a second button is pressed, extremely annoying when channel surfing. Also we have to have Play bar volume turned up to MAX and then adjust the volume from the remote, also very frustrating when you want to play audio.. consistently changing the volumes. Diagnostics Number is 6686461. Things i have tried, - Turned off nearly every Sonos component and then re-booted - Remote control setup, twice - Changed wireless channel - Checked Op Audio cable is not pinched and correctly installed. - Disabled Tv Speakers according to TV Manual Hoping a Diagnostics test can tell me a little more info, looking forward to hearing back from you. Hi, I've set up numerous Sonos systems for various people without issue, large and small........but now I have an issue with one zone (with 2x play3) pulling down the entire Sonos and Network when connected. Set up is as follows. 1, Sky Router. 2, Apple airport express's in every Sonos zone. There is one hard wired airport express that wirelessly extends to the 3 other airport expresses situated with each zones Sonos play3. Purely as wireless repeaters for internet etc this works flawlessly. 3, Sonos zones are Gym, Conservatory and kitchen. 4, The Gym and Conservatory Sonos have a network cable plugged into their local airport express and work perfectly. 5, The moment I add in the kitchen zone Sonos it all goes wrong and pulls down the entire network including internet. 6, I have initially installed with the same method as above but it goes down. 7, So luckily in this room I had a spare network cable so hard wired that Sonos back to the router, but again it is pulling down the
Over the years I have owned my Sonos system, one of my greatest bugbears has been its overall poor reliability. Considering its cost, you would expect its performance to be far better. I suffered poor radio performance again yesterday, reported the error & was told by support "The player is reporting a slow connection to the radio station which means that the data from the station is streaming to your player too slowly for playback to perform properly.." Ive got a 75mbps cable connection that has no problem playing netflix movies without errors or buffeting Can anyone else back me up?
I already have a multizone audio system, however, I'm looking to add sonos so we can stream music from our phones (apple,android) wirelessly. However, it seems complicated because we already have a multizone system that I had installed when we built the house. My current setup is as follows: 6 zone speaker selector (4 being used) living room, kitchen, patio, bathroom 4 zone amplifier All speakers are ceiling speakers (4 living room, 4 kitchen, 2 patio, 1 bathroom From what I have researched, I will need a connect or connect-amp for each zone? If I already have an amp then i assume I do not need the connect-amp? Is it possible to connect 4 speakers into 1 connect, assuming that the speakers are 8ohms? or is that only possible with the connect amp? If I already have a TV, DVD, STB, ANDROID BOX going into the amplifier for audio, i assume i would just add 1 connect per zone? And do i only need to hardwire 1 sonos connect, or do i hardwire all of them to my ethernet switch?
Bought the SONOS system on recommendation however I live in Western Isles of Scotland and the Internet connection is not the best. We bought the connect amp along with 2 x 3 play speakers. and 2 tannoy speakers for for our bar to give us some umph on party nights. Before I was using a Bluetooth connection from downloaded content via Spotify that was great. Now it seems to be on the whim of the connection, even though the content on spotify has been downloaded. When our connection goes down SONOS doesn't like it one bit, even though our spotify content has been downloaded! What's the solution?
OK. I've searched through the community for troubleshooting solutions; however, most of you speak a language that I've not mastered. I simply want to import my iTunes songs/playlists to Sonos. I updated both and attempted to "manage" my Sonos library via an update. What am I missing? Please help.
Using Sonos Controller for Mac. Spotify is working fine, but not showing up as an option in the dropdown search bar. Other services show (Pandora, etc) but not Spotify. Any thoughts? I've attached a screenshot. Thanks for any help on this!
