Recently I added around 7gb of music to a 16gb mini SD card which I use in my phone (a 3rd generation Moto G), with the intention of then being able to play the music via my PLAY1. However the SONOS app on my phone cannot find any of the music on the memory card no matter what I have tried to do. The music player app on my phone can access all the music on the SD card, but not the SONOS app - why? I have tried updating the music library index, also installed other music players to see if any of this made a difference but nothing has.could help me ouy I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out and explain either what I am doing wrong, or talk me through step-by-step on how to resolve this, Many thanks
I've seen a lot of threads around sound dropping with Apple TV,etc. I've had the Sonos system for just a short time, maybe 3 months. The sound started cutting out a couple weeks ago while watching TV. Last night it was dropping a lot during Grimm and it just happened again watching regular cable (Xfinity) I submitted a diagnostic within a minute of it dropping 5515037 . I've also noticed it dropping while watching netflix through the samsung TV app. And it dropped again while I'm typing this thread. I just went through an issue where several speakers dropped off the network and i had to reboot the entire system. I've checked the optical cable and its secure, its a quality cable, by Monster.
I have; SONOS Play 1 iPad mini 2 running Sonos app PC running iTunes within 200 albums Album art is in format folder.jpg in each album folder (each cover less than 300kb) Also have Deezer account - also access from Sonos application on iPad My problem When viewing 'Music Library' the cover art is really sluggish to display. It shows the covers as and when you scroll, so typically 12 per page which I accept (rather than cache) but almost a 1-2 second lag between thumbnails. Sometimes, it may skip thumbnails and not show anything - if I scroll down and then back up it sometimes refreshes the missing ones. However, if I pull up Deezer the cover art is really speedy (although I accept they are coming from the web directly). Any ideas what the problem is? PC is connected to router by way of homeplugs. I have a fast connection from iPad for all other things, for example I can stream 1080p video to my iPad from the PC. Would really appreciate some help with this, thanks.
Hello: I have two Sonos Play 5 and a Sonos bridge and have been using the system daily for years to playback podcasts downloaded to my iPhone. Two days ago, I received notification to update Sonos controller app to v 6.2.1 to "fix podcast playback issues from iPhone". Ironically I've had no issues whatsoever with playing back my podcasts until I updated to 6.2.1 a few days ago. Now, my podcasts stop part way through, sometimes resetting the time back to the zero mark and the podcast appears stopped, other times the podcasts looks like it is still playing in the Sonos app but there is no sound. My iPhone app is v 6.2.1 build 31926123 Play 5s and bridge are: v 6.2 build 31926010 Diagnostic submitted: 5483114
I have two Play 1's that I have set up as a stereo pair. I then enable Trueplay on the pair and everything seems to be OK. However when I use the system the next day the Sonos App still shows that the stereo pair exists with Trueplay enabled, but no sound is coming out of the right speaker. I have to seperate the stereo pair, then re-create the stereo pair and then retune Trueplay. Any ideas?
I have a Playbar and it works just perfectly when using standard Android (5.X) on my Nexus 4 phone. However, when trying to connect with my Sony Z5 Compact phone, sometimes it wont connect, then it drops the connection occasionally while playing (music does not stop, but app is not visible on the phone). I've updated the phone, all apps on the phone and the latest Sonos app etc. I'm running Android 5.X (lollipop) at the latest version. I'm clearly deeply suspicious of the Sony software on the phone (i.e. Beyond standard Android), in particular anything that might power down or interupt the WiFi such as battery saving features. I've tried running the phone with all power saving features turned off, but that does not make any difference. Rebooting the phone will not help, neither will rebooting the Sonos, you just have to keep trying to get the app to connect and it "lucks in" eventually. Sometimes the app will say it cant find the Sonos, and you leave it for a few minutes (unsure exa
I have a problem with standby mode on my Sonos Play:1. The device is connected via WiFi to my home network and the back of the device is warm even when the device is not playing. I measured the power consumption of the device: 0.09A /240V/ --> 21W. The consumption is the same doesn't matter if the speaker is playing or not. This idicates me, that the device is not in standby mode. Regarding to https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/260 should the device go to sleep mode after 3 minutes of inactivity /not muting/ and the power consumption should be around 4W / EU voltage/. My device needs 5x more power at idle state than the value provided by Sonos. Could someone of you be so kind and measure the power consumption /current/ of your Play:1 at idle state?
Hi everybody, I didn't bother reporting this during the beta-testing period trusting it would be fixed. It didn't. My bad. Basically, a great number of my Apple Music playlists show duplicate when accessing them via the Sonos app. They show correctly when accessed directly with Music. Whe using Sonos, some of them may even show three or four times, some just one but, in general, mostly twice. I have tried to unsubscribe the Apple Music service from Music Services and then register again hoping this would reset the system but no luck so far. Any idea as to how manually cancel the unwanted duplicates? Thank you
I have a stereo paired set of Play 5's. A few days ago I started getting a weird popping sound coming from my right side sonos 5 speaker. The popping sound doesn't start immediately when the system is running. It starts after the speakers have been running for 15-20mins. At first the popping sound comes at about 5 second intervals, but after about 60-90seconds the sound comes at about 2 second intervals. My sonos speakers are only 2yrs old. The sound popping sound still sounds even when I mute the speaker. Anyone have any ideas?
I have 5 restaurants and two homes that all use Sonos products. At home, I have 7 CONNECT:AMP products. For some reason, two of them are running very hot. 5 of them sit at around 80 degrees when not being used. 2 of them are at 100-110 degrees at idle. I'm assuming something is wrong. Is this a problem?
I'm on my second Pro-Ject Debut Carbon record player in a matter of 30 days (returned the first thinking it was defective) and am having the same occasional 'skipping' issue so I'm thinking it's not the record player but instead my Sonos setup. My setup is as follows: Project Debut Carbon > grounded RCA cables > ART DJPRE II Phono Preamplifier > RCA cables > Sonos Connect Amp (Connect Amp is connected to my wifi router via ethernet cable, three Play 3 speakers are connected wirelessly throughout the house). The record player is setup on a level wooden cabinet and the tone arm is adjusted properly. I'm using an anti-static cleaning brush. The records are not scratched as many are new. When the 'skipping' occurs, the stylus appears to still be contacting the record normally but there's simply no sound. It is usually very brief - sounding like a cd skipping - just silence for a fraction of a second then the song continues. On one or two occasions, the 'skipping' has
I have made a playlist within Apple Music that is my entire library (around 2800 songs) wth the goal of adding that playlist to the queue allowing me to play my entire Apple Music library shuffled. Whenever I attempt to add the playlist to the queue I receive an error message : Unable to add tracks to queue. This is the only playlist that I get the error message as I have no problems adding other playlists via Apple Music or Spotify. I have tried using both my iPhone and Macbook with no luck. Is there a limit to the number of songs that can be added to a queue at once? Is an issue with Apple Music as it is still in the beta program? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Is there a better way of adding my Apple Music library to the queue so that I can play it randomly? Also, Here is my diagnostic number: 5383925
In the last week, every night my 3 zones (all ZP90's plus a Boost), which are always grouped, have ungrouped themselves. Sometimes too during the day even while I'm listening, a zone will drop out and the other two ungroup themselves. After a few minutes the zone that disappeared will reappear, but trying to regroup them all also is tricky now. I will group all three and click 'Done', and none or only 2 have grouped. I have to repeat this once or twice until they group properly. Please can I send you a diagnostic to see if there's anything you can discern? Thanks, Oliver
We are having problems with Sonos controllers not able to connect to Sonos devices after moving between two different Wifi APs on the same network, and it seems to e related to the Vodafone Connect router Wifi/wired interface - has anyone else had problems with this fairly new device? Our setup is: 1 x Connect AMP, 2 x Connects, 1 x Play3, 1 x Playbar with Sub and 2 x Play3 rears all connected via Sonosnet, though one Connect is wired into the Connect AMP due to distance. We have a fairly new Vodafone Connect Router (ADB 963168_ADBVOX25) with onboard Wifi, a Netgear GS108v4 switch which has all wired devices connected to it and then into the router, and a Draytek VigorAP 900 wireless AP connected in to the Netgear switch. The Vodafone Connect Wifi and the Vigor AP Wifi have the same SSID and password, and all devices connect okay to both and can see all other devices on the network. The problem occurs after a controller has been on the Vigor AP and then moves back to the Vod
Has anyone experienced the "We've run into a problem. Try again" error message? If so did you resolve the problem and how did you resolve it? I currently am experiencing the error with Apple Music and a new Play 5 on all my iDevice including my iMac.. Though I have contacted Beta Support and they have been responsive to my questions they have been unable to resolve the issue. If someone has experienced this error with another streaming service it might help me resolve my issue with Apple Music. I have restarted, deleted the app, reinstalled the app removed myself from beta, readded my self to beta ..... with no luck. The odd thing is i have been able to play a couple of songs on Apple Music but hundred of other songs fail. Amazon Music Library and Google Music work flawlessly. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all, I have just purchased 2 Play:1s recently and tried setting up at home. Let's call them Unit A and Unit B. I started setting up using Unit A through a Standard Setup (without Boost), I encountered a problem that the "SONOS" wifi network which I am supposed to connect to did not appear in my list of WiFi connections on Apple. Tried it multiple times but to the same result even after hard reset (on power with mute button held until blinking orange). So i decided to try setting up Unit B with the exact same procedure above. Everything went well and it can play music. So I attempted to add in Unit A now that Unit B is all set up. I proceed to Add a Player. It took forever to connect and in the end, I received this error message (attached). Could it be that there is a faulty component that inhibits WiFi activity in Unit A? Do I need to send it for exchange?\ Someone help please. Thanks.
Hi, I have two new Play 1's one in the lounge (ZP:Lounge) and one in the office (ZP:Office). ZP:Lounge is connected to my network via Wi-Fi, ZP:Office is connected to the network via Ethernet (there is very poor Wi-Fi signal in the office). I'm pretty sure thy were both working when I first set them up but now I only ever see one player listed in my controller, this seems to be whichever connects to the network first. Network looks something like: Sky Router ---wifi--- ZP:Lounge | Eth | Netgear Switch ---Eth---ZP:Office Are there any special steps I need to take to connect my zoneplayers so that both are visible in the controller? Is this even possible? Cheers Simon
Hello guys I'm a new owner of the Sonos 5.1 system and I'm having issues with a very simple setup. I have the following - Sonos 5.1 configuration (Soundbar, Play 1's and SUB) - brand new 2015 4K TV (Samsung UN50JU7100) - Mac Mini (Late 2012) (El Capitan OSX) The connection is as recommended by Sonos. Connect Sonos to the TV with the supplied Digital Optic cable AND MacMini is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable THE ISSUE: --------------------------------- With this configuration I'm only getting stereo out of the Mac into the Sonos Speakers. On the Mac OS In the Audio MIDI Setup the 5.1 options are all grayed out and I cant even select them. Please, does anyone know how to fix this?
