I have a few speakers that I have always controlled using the app on my phone. I recently got a new computer and downloaded the Sonos app for Windows. When I try to open the app, it won't find my speakers despite connecting on the same WiFi network and being able to still use my phone app to control the speakers. Help please!
Previously, we had an issue with alarm ungrouping my rooms and not playing any music, while the ungrouping issue has been resolved, the alarm still does not play on its indicated time. We have updated Sonos a few days ago, hoping it will fix the issue but it seems the issue still persist. Any steps I can take so this issue can be resolved?
I have a Samsung one remote which I have configured to use with my playbase. It works perfectly until I decide (e.g. at night) to use bluetooth headphones - then it stops being able to control the playbase. I think what is happening is that the TV starts to use bluetooth for audio and therefore the One Remote/Smart Remote stops emitting IR and controls the bluetooth volume as it should. Once this is triggered insteaad of regaining control when the BT headset is disconnected the remote stays controlling the tv volume directly and forgets to emit IR. Anyone else had this and fixed it - Samsung were not able to help on one call and I will call them back to try again but maybe one of you experts solved this already. I was thinking I could use the accessibility features to allow sound to transmit to 2 sources but that would trip up if I press mute and mute both bluetooth and sonos. TV is a Samsung ue55mu7070 Thanks guys!
Please kindly help me to setup Alexa on my Sonos One. I have a flawlessly working system with 3 pcs Play 1s and a Play 3, furthermore 3 times Amazon Alexa Echo and Dot. All working without any problems, I truly love it. Recently I purchased a Sonos One and it is integrated nicely, voice also setup with my Amazon credentials, even the device greated me as an Alexa device via voice. But... it does not appear to respond to any voice commands at all. Mic is on obviously (turned off and on a couple of times). Both Sonos and Alexa app shows the Sonos One, even the Amazon setup. What else do I need to do I order to use it as an Alexa device too? Many thanks,
I recently subscribed to nugs.net. I have had no problems playing any of the content through the mobile app on the iPhone and iPad and sending it via AirPlay to my stereo. The incredibly maddening issue has been when I try to use the desktop app to play any music. Maybe 1 in 10 songs I try to play from any artist actually works. The vast majority I try results in the "Unable to play...song is not encoded correctly" I sent a diagnostic report in. The number for that is:1597591162.
I know this topic has been addressed all over, so apologies for the repeat question (at this point there are so many threads that I couldn't track all of the varying advice). I'm looking for advice and a clean explanation for how I can run video to a projector (via HDMI) and split the audio to a Playbar using an optical audio cable. On my first attempt, I found some guidance on how to accomplish this using a Portta 4x1 HDMI switch and at one point I got it to work. Things got really busy and I didn't use my home theater for a few months and when I tried to use it again the audio would always go straight to the projector. Everything works with the Sonos gear, so its just an issue of how to send the audio to Playbar. When I previously got it to work I remember having to turn the projector volume to 0 and then somehow select the external audio source, but now I'm not finding this function anywhere. I have read the issue may be that the Portta device is a switch and not a splitter,
Have a couple of Gen 2 Play 5, have worked perfectly for a year. Now the left one is gone from the app. I am trying to reinstall it, I follow the process when adding a speaker. The light is steady white (as it is installed since before). I am asked to press the button on the back and wait for a sound. I press, but no sound, nothing happens. Except that the light now starts to flash yellow, then a steady yellow light. Tried several times. Have disconnected it from power several times. Also rebooted router several times. My other speakers works fine. Nothing else is changed, same router, same wifi since I bought the Sonos system Diagnostic confirmation #1818147150
Currently I'm sending iTunes audio to my SONOS PLAY:5, through AirPlay 2. There are two pretty bad bugs. First, iTunes allows to set at which point in a track the playback starts and stops. So if you want it to start seven second in, it will do that. And if you want to end the track maybe ten seconds early and skip to the next one, you can set it to do that automatically. The SONOS system seems to acknowledge the start times, but it is ignoring my custom stop times. It will go on to the end of the track. Also, this could just be an AirPlay 2 problem in general, but I have some 2 to 3 hour long podcasts and attempting to start any of them while result in a beach ball that goes on for at least thirty seconds, sometimes more. I notice that this doesn't happen on shorter podcasts, so I guess the SONOS system is attempting to buffer the entire podcasts before playing, which results in the application hanging on the longer podcasts? I don't know, but it's definitely unacceptable behavi
I have Cincinnati Bell Fioptics for my cable provider. I'm noticing that I am not getting DD 5.1 when my cable box is connected to my tv through HDMI, and then my playbar is connected to my TV through optical. It is coming through as Stereo through the Sonos app information. If I plug the playbar directly into the cable box through optical it will come through as DD 5.1. I've exhausted all options and have confirmed my tv does accept DD 5.1 through HDMI. Any Cincinnati Bell users that also use Sonos playbar or playbase? Are you noticing these issues? At a loss and hate I have a full setup but can't take advantage of it when I watch tv through my cable provider. Cincinnati Bell support hasn't been much help.
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help before I return my Sonos?. I've recently purchased a Sonos One for the Kitchen and I have Spotify Premium Account. The problem I'm having is that I can only control what music I play on the Sonos One via my Spotify App. Alexa is refusing to play anything from my Spotify Account. I have selected Spotify as my default service. I have a duplicate device even though I have only one Sonos/Alexa device. (Now Renamed) I have only one Amazon Account. This software conflict has effectively cost Sonos a £3000 purchase as this was just the start of me setting up for my entire home. Any help would be appreciated before I lose patience. I've went through the full setup process around 4 times and followed this procedure below, that I found on another thread.... 1/ Duplicate device names - Alexa prefers that names for Devices, Groups and Scenes are unique, 1.1/ Please open up the Alexa App>Smart Home and make a note of any duplicate device names; 1.2/ Y
I have a Sonos setup with multiple speakers and am using a WDMyCloud Mirror NAS for my music library. Since I added some music to the iTunes library on my MacBook, I replaced my iTunes folder on the NAS with a copy of my local iTunes folder. From that point on Sonos was no longer able to connect to the music library. I removed the reference in the music library setup and added it again. I am getting an error message "The computer "OerbigCloud" refused to let Sonos connect to it. I have tried this on various devices, with various users, but always get this message. My Sonos software is current, all devices are up to date. Can anybody help me out here?

Since one of the recent 8.x updates my Sonos system has become extremely unreliable. 2 connect amps (garden and bathroom), bridge, play3, play1 and a play5. I’ve had the bathroom connect amp disappear intermittently and then permanently so had to add it back in again. Tracks randomly stop playing or refuse to start. This used to be very reliable so something has changed since the update. My WiFi hasn’t changed and I’ve checked with my neighbours and they haven’t changed anything and given the distance I wouldn’t expect any interference. I’ve tried swapping channels, tried swapping to WiFi and rebooted router, WiFi and most Sonos units and it’s no better. What can I do to fix it?
I have a connect amp unit, which has the power amplifier damaged (beyond repair) so I converted it to a Connect unit with two rca lines comming out from the PCB. I wasn't able to use it at full volume, just about 3/4, but it was all right, with the latest update of software, I can not get above 10%. I presume it's an issue of a signal that protects the unit , and orders to lower the volume, how can I get rid of this limitaton ? all power circuits have been removed. Thank you
Hi there. I have a Sonos Soundbar connected to my Samsung TV (UE55JU6470U). Soundbar and TV cannot be synced! The TV has a delay option. When I delay it to -120, the TV sound and the TV-lips are sync. When I turn on the soundbar and the TV, there is no echo at a setting of TV delay 0, and Sonos Delay -70, or the other way around, if I delay Sonos to 0, the TV is at delay - 70. How can I sync my soundbar at -120. Can anyone help? Thanks a lot and regards, SP
I can link one play 5 speaker in the JRIVER media center 22 if they are set up as a stereo pair in sonos. The left speaker (Main speaker) will play. If I link the second speaker in JRIVER, I get a DNLA server error message and JRiver stops playing. I am able to disconnect the play 5 speakers as a stereo pair in Sonos, then link both play 5 speakers using Jriver and play them in Jriver, although this does not sound as good as if the speakers were connected as a stereo pair. Any suggestions on how to play stereo 5 speakers as a stereo pair using Jriver? Thanks - Martin
The song I want to play is now grey as opposed to black so I can't tap on it. It has no options menu and when I tried connecting through Spotify to play the same song (I can still play it on my phone in the Spotify app) it just gets skipped. Not sure what's happening here, any help appreciated.
Hi. I've got six Play:1 units in five rooms at my home. I'm in a downtown high-rise condo w/ very thick wi-fi resistant walls so I've had to wire two units to my Ubiquiti Unifi SW-8 managed switch. The setup is generally stable but I still get broadcast storms around once/twice a month. Please see attachments for more details. What else can I do to improve stability? I've got an unused bridge (old version) though I can't imagine how it would help. Thanks.
Hi all. Got a Connect amp from a dishonest seller and unfortunately all seemed fine except that the output doesn’t work even with no speakers. Gets into protection mode. Out of warranty for one month and Sonos does will not offer any kind of replacement since I do not have the original email registration.... They know they had several registration attempts in the last days... So does anyone has any repair tips . All I see is about power supply not amp failure as diagnosis by Sonos. Wish Sonos would reconsider... Thanks
Howdy, One of my goals with the Sonos was/is the next time my special friend followed me home who I have been hanging out with have some of their favorite artists playing when we open the door. Unfortunately, every time I left the house & came back the Sonos App couldn't find the system (Paly1) & the fix was to unplug the router...not exactly a routine I want to go through every time let alone the next time she comes over. It took me reading a number of posts & finally finding the answer in a reply to another person & surprisingly not on the Sonos FAQ for troubleshooting. However, by giving the system a Static IP in my router...problem solved. This is an easy fix for you, if you are having this issue... If you don't know how to access your router, simply [list=1] [*]Go to the maker's website & it will walk you through the process, [*]Once you are in your router's admin/settings, again, check the website on where the Static IP's are...might be under Local LAN. [*]Look
