During my normal play time on my sonos play 5, which I bought just a couple weeks ago, I got a message of "connection to Apple Music was lost". The first few days after setup are fine. But I am having this problem very frequently. I attached a screenshot of the message when I tried to play the song "Much too soon" from MJ. Also I wonder if my play 5 is energy efficient while it is in standby mode? Now I am unplugging it if I am not using it. Not sure if this is necessary. Thanks. Hopefully my issue can be resolved soon. Happy holidays.
Hey all, wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Im by no means a newbie with Sonos but I have found that switching wifi networks is always a huge pain with these things. Anyway thats not my issue. I had to jump through hoops to get my Play5 Gen1 back on my home wifi system after being at my office a while. Finally got it up and running... sort of. I had to treat it as a brand new system and set everything up from start.. so to speak. during the set up it demanded I update my controller app so I did. (I'm using an iMac, iPad and an android for this). After updating the app, my sons system recognized the play5 but now I have no button on any of the devices to allow ADD Music Service. I have un-installed and re-installed the app on every device. I have included 2 screen shots of what Im talking about, and version of Software. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Colin
I have been given a set of Play 1 for christmas and they are great but i am having problem connecting my WD network box, i have done what it says on the NAS question but will not add it i have been putting this \\WDMYCLOUD\ plus what user name is and still not working
I already own several Sonos products (Play 5s, 1s, and Sub) and have been very pleased with the performance. I have two sets of decent Polk Audio speakers just collecting dust in my basement. I was thinking about purchasing a connect amp to use with the speakers. The set I am most interesting in using is a pair of Polk Monitor 70 II Tower Speakers. They are rated between 20-275W. My question is if a connect amp would have enough power to get decent sound out of the speakers. I had previously used them with Pioneer Elite VSX-32 receiver with a peak of 110W per channel. Does anyone have any experience with the Connect Amp with speakers similar to this?
I have a ZonePlayer120 connected to my ATT Uverse modem/router using a Cat5 cable into the back of the modem/router, acting as a bridge to my Sonos system. If I leave it plugged in, within a few hours to a day, my wired network (anything hanging off the four ports on the back of the Uverse modem/router) goes down. Wireless is untouched and maintains its Internet connection. I originally thought this was due to a new ATT modem/router, but I'm on my *fourth* unit now, and the problem persists. If I unplug the Sonos and quickly replug it in, the Internet comes back. If I leave Sonos unplugged from the modem/router, the trouble never happens. I have replaced the Cat5 cable, and am out of ideas. Has anyone ever seen this before? Are there any firmware updates that might not have been pushed to my unit that I could try?
Seems weird as I am using the desktop software on the computer, but it tells me that it is unable to locate "name of my computer here" when trying to connect to my iTunes music. Happens even when I manually select the folder the music is on. I read through the support pages already. I added Sonos to the accepted programs in my firewall and made sure the name of the computer in both sharing and network are the same. Any other suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
I have an existing Play 5 and a new Play 1 and when I go to set it up the new Play 1, my Iphone recogizes it, but when I click to connect after the flashing green light, it kills the wifi connection and drops the wifi. I reconnect the phone and it happenend again. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
So I just received my playbar and two rear play 1's (sub on the way)..I have an LG B6 OLED tv which i recently hooked the sonos up to and was able to successfully change the stereo settings on the tv to play the sound through the optical out which of course sent sound through my playbar and two rear speakers. I watched the football game last night and everything was fine....this afternoon, I used the Sonos app to play some music which worked great as well. However, when I went to watch tv tonight, no sound was initially heard. After double checking that no settings were changed, I figured I would go into the Sonos app and see if closing the music function and click on the TV icon would fix the problem, and luckily it did. My question is if there are any settings that I could enable that would allow me to not have to open the app and switch the settings every time I switch between watching tv and listening to music and back to watching tv?
I've had this speaker for 1 week, chose it over Bose due to comments, app, etc. The speaker is a part of a two speaker system. This morning the status light was solid white but no longer appears in the app. I've tried to re-add it, factory reset it, rebooting it, but nothing changes. Just the constant white solid light. There's a 1 hour wait on the support phone line so I thought that I'd ask here. I am starting to regret the Sonos over Bose decision.
Hi there, Recently I faced a problem with my play 5 gen1 unit. It is not working at all. Just the white light is blinking. I tried to make factory reset but this doesn't work at all. White light is still blinking and it is not changing into amber ones. Do you have any idea what could happened? Thank you in advance for your sugestions.
I have 4 Play 1's and a Play 3, currently grouped together in a single group - one of the Play 1's I added a couple days ago keeps on dropping. I am using a Boost. I tried just pulling the power on that unit, and doing that does not add it back. I then do a factory reset on that Play 1 that keeps dropping, and then it does again appear.. My diagnostics is #6926134 Thank You.
My Sonos Player in the kitchen at the back of the house keeps dropping out and the PlusNet wi-fi strength there is pretty low. When I connect my Sonos Bridge things seem no better. The Bridge sets up its own wi-fi - yes? But nothing shows up on my Wi-Fi Analytics Tool. Should I be seeing it there? [Bridge shows a continuous white light.]
I've had my Sonos setup for a couple of years now and have never had this problem. I can group all the speakers no problem, but after about 30-60 seconds, my PLAY:5 automatically ungroups from the other speakers. It doesn't appear to lose connection or anything, it just ungroups. Looking for a solution!
Hi there Need some advice on the best way to hook up my existing hifi (which has radio, minidisc, tape, CD and LP player) into my Sonos system. Is there a way of keeping my existing setup including the existing amp, e.g by hooking something to the amp output (e.g. Speaker output) that is sonos to get it onto my wifi system? Thanks!
I have had a playbar for 2 years. Has worked flawlessly. All of a sudden, it completely lost connection. I can not add it back to Sonos. No sound is coming from it, from the TV connected to toslink. Here is a rundown of my setup, in case it helps. Router (Asus RT-AC3100). Ethernet from Router directly to 8 port switch near entertainment center. Plugged directly into switch is Entertainment devices (Ps4, Xbox one, etc) and Playbar. So, playbar is directly wired to ethernet. Savant Remote controls all AV items, including the Sonos. Up until 2 weeks ago, everything worked flawlessly. All of a sudden, the remote would not control volume (i would still hear volume from playbar), but had to manually adjust volume. Since then I can not see an IP assigned to the playbar, even though it is plugged in directly. Playbar maintains solid white light. When i reset the playbar (unplug, hold play/pause, plug back in, wait for flashing amber or green light) and try to ad
Everything was working fine until one day the connect and connect amp were no longer found. I have a play 1 which is still working fine. I connected the connect via an ethernet cable and went through the wireless process whilst connected. It then worked wirelessly for about 24 hours before disappearing again. The connect and connect amp are in the cellar. Another piece of kit (CCTV) is also not being found now having worked well previously. There is a good wireless signal in the cellar as my phone works fine. Any ideas much appreciated...
I've been using Sonos ZP100 zone players for over 16 years now. Up till now, the sound quality has always been very good. Recently, the sound quality has definetly gone down across all six of my ZP100s. It doesn't matter if I'm streaming music from the Internet or playing music from my collection on my NAS. I'm wondering if it's possible that more recent FW upgrades could be optimized for newer player hardware in a way that might negatively impact the sound quality of my players?
