I have two Play:5s, two Play:3s, two Play:1s, a connect:amp for floor-standing speakers, a Soundbar, and boost directly connected to the router. I have two Play:5s (1st Gen) set up as an audio pair connected to PC through a line in. This pairing only works for a few minutes, then disconnects. Sometimes one of the Play:5s disappears completely. They also randomly separate during regular music playback without the line-in. They have become completely useless as computer speakers and for background music. For my home cinema setup, I have a projector connected to a Ligawo HDMI switch (to connect my Roku, PS4, and Laptop) that outputs the audio to the Soundbar. I also have two Play:3s as satellites and a connect amp for my floor standing speakers in the back. When I pair the Soundbar to the Play:3s, the sound is either barely audible or it cuts out completely at times. I prefer the sound of the big speakers from the connect:amp and when I pair it with the Play:3s, they also intermit
Hi, I already have seen some topics related to this issue but many of those are one month old and people is still having the issue. I have invested in four PLAY 1 and one BAR, and I cannot believe that I am having this issue and find after some research that many are phasing same situation. Installation was pretty easy and thats something to thanks but is not acceptable to have this kind of issues. My problem is the following: I am not able to see my sonos devices in the Spotify app. When I restart the router, it works fine but if I turn off Spotify either on the imac or iphone, they vanish. My setup for songs is the standard, that is, using the home wifi since I haven't still installed the bar. But in any case, this should not be an issue. The solution is not to wire the bar to a router in order to create an own network. The solution is to make spotify showing again the PLAY 1 devices. And I do not see the as a solution either to become and expert and enter in the router set
In the iTunes library and playlists, Apple provides a tick box with each song. Un-ticking that box for one or more songs, means the song is skipped / does not get played when playing that playlist. The song also does not get copied / synced to your apple devices. Unfortunately Sonos does not appear to recognise that iTunes tickbox and copies and plays in Sonos, every song in the iTunes library/playlist. If you think it would be a great feature to have in Sonos, just reply with YES! Thank you
Following my last re index when i added 2 new cd's about 15 tracks It took about 10 hours and lost most of my library ...currently running with 64450 ..about 550 under the 65k limit, first re index came back with 6800 tracks ...so removed and readded the main share on a NAS which after waiting another 12 hours came back with the same number ...did the same again removing both share drives, there is a couple of thousand on another share drive, and readding both came back with less than 5,700 tracks .... set it to remove both share drives again last night and readded them again about 6.00 pm, again last night, checked this morning ..... still indexing, ......... home from work at 5.00pm to find it had stopped and ...better news it's now standing at 58840 tracks ...which i will live with for now. but still about 6000 tracks not showing why is it taking so long ...i keep within all the parameters by using MP3 Tag and it has worked fine for the last 4 years, i am unsure
I have a Connect with a wired connection directly to my home router, and a line-in connection to my TV. Frequently when playing content on the TV (OTA HD, streaming HD video from NAS, Netflix, etc.) the audio will drop out for several seconds. I don't have this issue when playing music from my local collection on the same NAS or from Spotify. Turning on compression isn't an option because then the audio is out of sync with the video. Some further info: the TV is sending PCM using the RCA inputs on the Connect.
I just upgraded to 7.1 this weekend and have not been able to get Sonos to work properly -- I have a Connect:Amp, Connect, Soundbar, Sub, Play 7 and two Play 1s -- Sonos usually 'finds' the soundbar and 2 Play 1s -- never 'finds' the Connects. I've rebooted my entire system, rebooted my wifi, installed and re-installed Sonos app -- twice!! -- but with no improvement. I've contacted customer support, but they're useless -- anyone got any suggestions?? -- Please!!!!!!!
So after many years of happy Sonos play I thought I'd stump up no get some of my vinyl back in rotation, I bought the Sonos:Amp and an Audio Technika AT-LP120. Foolishly I assumed it be as simple as adding the amp to my existing setup plugging in the turntable through the phons plus on the Amp and away you go. I guess not, can anyone suggest a step by step guide to getting this system to work? Many thanks
I have just purchased a Sonos Connect and Sonos Play 5 to work alongside my Marantz Amplifier. I have 2 input sources on the amplifier they are CD and a turntable. I would like to be able to connect my amplifier to my Sonos connect so that I can move my Sonos Play 5 around my house and still use my original system
Hi Guys, I have a Sonos Playbar in a living room connected to a switch. I then have a long hallway in a flat and a bedroom where wireless is not good. I have a Devolo wireless extender which uses Powerline, and I used to connect a pair of Play: 3 speakers in stereo mode to the 2 Ethernet jacks of the Devolo. Recently I have had issues trying to stream the audio from the TV on the Playbar to the bedroom. I went to the diagnostic web page on the Sonos devices and the problem at the moment is poor connectivity between the Playbar and the Play speakers. My question is if I purchased a boost, could I put the boost in a room between the bedroom and the lounge but there would be no Ethernet there (i.e., it would then have to receive and broadcast the Sonos network wireless signal)? If not, I could try putting another wireless speaker in the room and see if this improves the signal. Any suggestions? Thanks, Andrew.
Since I looks like official Echo integration is still a ways off (no public beta yet), I've decided to expand my integration through Homeseer and this has brought up an interesting question on the best strategy for setting up echo commands. When I tell Echo to play something on Sonos I'm basically doing two different things: I'm setting a grouping scene of which player(s) I want to play through and also telling it what content to play. I could do this with two separate Echo commands such as "turn on downstairs scene" or "turn on living room scene" to get the speakers grouped and then use a separate command to play the playlist or radio station I want to hear. This requires a small number of commands to be set up that can be used in many different combinations but I would always need to speak two different things to Alexa to start the music. The second option is to set up commands that include both the grouping and source in one command such as "turn on Downstairs Morning Playli
After hearing so many "why can't my Sonos device be a computer speaker" and hearing so many challenges that appear to misunderstand how the wireless communication challenges might me hard to overcome... (We can see that many of the dedicated options for this have struggled... e.g. I find painful lags for "airplay" at times and it isn't as stable as it should... etc.) that may be ok for some purposes but not for others... so to overcome some of the technical challenges and perhaps find a way to augment the system and "do it right..." at the same time...: This mIght be silly, but how about this for a product idea for Sonos... Let's call it the "Sonos Connect:Mini" What if there was a dongle type wifi device, rechargeable battery (USB chargeable), that operated a 2.4 and 5Ghz radio on SonosNet that would "bond" with a room/device. Let's say the Connect:Mini device is designed for two, selectable services. 1) To be a source for a dedicated (bonded) Sonos Device, and 2) Sonos Z
I have noticed that not all my music files on my NAS transfer over to the Sonos Music Library. They are WAV files, using 192 Kbps. I have tried to update the Music Library numerous times, but always the same result. For some musicians or group, only one or two albums will transfer, but not others yet all were ripped on with the same WAV configuration and bit rate. Any ideas?
I have a Samsung UN46D8000 television connected to the Playbar outputting PCM (the Samsung doesn't allow any other option in this setup). I also have a Play:1 in the Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom and a Sonos Bridge to connect the devices. Music through Pandora plays through all devices fine, but sound from the TV (Netflix) will cut in and out on the Play:1, despite working fine on the Playbar. The sound will go out on just the Play:1 for a second or so, then come back. It will do this randomly as movies or shows are playing, sometimes several times in the span of a few minutes, other times it will be half and hour or and hour before the sound goes out. What I've tried: Resetting router, bridge, speakers. Changing wireless channel Updating TV firmware Moving Kitchen Play:1 to the other side of the room (more direct path between Bridge and Play:1 Moving Bridge further from router (they were sitting on top of each other, are now as far away as ethernet cable allows) Any hel
Sonos does not recognize my music library on a consistent basis. I would say it happens on a weekly basis. I check my library settings and my library does show it is connected. Usually restarting fixes, but now restarting does not. I called Sonos to correct a week ago and it was working fine. Now the problem is back: Sonos does not recognize my music library. Is there anyone that can assist with this problem?
Hi, I don't know whether to post it here or in the Google help section, I might do both. Whenever I play content on the Chromecast, my Sonos system pauses the audio. I naturally try to play the sound again, then it pauses the Chromecast content? This as been going on for about two days now. Anyone with similar issues?
