I would like Sonos to include a quicker/easier way to transfer a queue from one speaker to another without having to group and then ungroup the speakers. This is similar to how with cable you can start watching tv in one room and then continue watching right where you left off in another room without skipping a beat.
I would like to use all the Sonos products, but they're simply out of my budget. If I was to purchase normal speakers for my various rooms (6 pairs for 6 rooms) and a normal amplifier (these speakers would be connected to the amplifier with normal speaker cables) could I introduce a Sonos Connect(?) or Connect Amp(?) and: 1./ send music from my phone to any/multiple zones? 2./ play music from a hard drive to any/multiple zones? Or would I need a Connect(?) or Connect Amp(?) for each room???
Was having issues with existing my music folder/library and so had to remove it as it wouldn't play. When i tried to add a new music library which is stored like me last library on and external hard drive I just keep on getting same error message that my computer has refused access to SONOS. I have googled the problem & read through most of the forums about checking firewalls, and sharing properties and tried them all but nothing seems to work. I've also sent a diagnostic ; #7106120 Any thoughts?
I can't get my head around this system. It's my dad's and I managed to log onto his account, with all his playlists and all his speakers set up, and my friend took out the internet cable by accident and now I can't get back into my dads account. I can't sync the speakers and start again or anything? It's like I need to log into my dads account to use all the speakers Help!
When trying to listen to Spotify using Spotify app on iOS the relevant device is listed however it won't connect. Repeated attempts lead to the message 'connecting' but with no success and connection reverts back to iPad. This didn't use to be a problem. I don't have the same problem with using Spotify app on Android. In addition when listening using Sonos controller if I switch to Spotify controller on iPad the two are not synced; music playing through Play 1 is that selected using Sonos controller and then cannot be altered when switching to Spotify controller. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Sonos and Spotify on the iPad but the problem persists. I was a beta tester and never encountered this problem. Please can someone help.
I have 4 Sonos Play1 speakers placed throughout our office. Over the weekend something happened and now only 2 of the 4 speakers will play any music, radio stations, etc. Typically all 4 speakers in the office are grouped together but when I tried to start it up Monday morning they would not play unless I un-grouped them. I've figured out that 2 of the speakers are working fine but the other 2 will not play music from any of the music services. The music service playlists all display fine on my Ipad controller but when I try to play any of the playlists it acts as if I didn't select anything. I've tried to unplug the play 1's and also tried resetting the controller with no luck. Anyone have a solution for me? Please and thank you!
Hi....have been looking at wireless headphones to listen to Sonos. My Sonos network uses wireless...so I don't want/able to ethernet my Sonos. So, with that information, does anyone of you successfully use wireless 'over the ear' headphones with Sonos. I'm particularly interested in ones tha use 'Kleer Technology' as it appears that it offers CD quality. Was looking at the Sennheisrr RS 180, but it seems that conflicts with Sonos, which is disappointing. It would be good if Sonos could have an approved list of wireless headphones that work well with Sonos as they do for routers. Or maybe, they could do a partnership with Dr Dre Beats when they go wireless. Alternatively, they release their own branded pair......which ever route, I just want to buy a pair that works with Sonos at high quality.
I upgraded to 6.3 two days ago, since when I have experienced what I would describe as:- 1. a deterioration in the Sonos network. A Play 1 in my kitchen which has generally been OK "drops out" frequently, maybe three times a day. 2. A play 1, located in my garden (out of the weather), which has always been a little difficult simply does'nt talk to the network at all 3. Tune-in, almost always BBC Radio 4, drops out - this morning 4 times between 07:30 & 09:00 BST. When Tune-In restarts not all speakers start at the same time, there is maybe 3-5 second delay between the first spears starting and the last speaker starting. I submitted diagnositic confirmation number 6298684 at about 08:15, and the problem has persisted since. I am using two Andorid devices as controllers, and 2 PCs under Windows 7 & 8 - all operating systems & patches up to date. NJSS
For the first time in many years of Sonos ownership the alarm failed to activate this morning. I have several Sonos elements but the alarm is set to sound on a stereo pair of Play 1s. I use it every weekday and it was set to go off at 06:45. I'll be setting the alarm on my iPhone for tomorrow morning as a back-up. Any advice or further diagnostics you can suggest?
I'm new to Sonos. I have a folder on my PC with EVERY piece of music I own, that iTunes uses as a reference folder. It's called "Music". It's got my music, kids music, etc. I want to create a Sonos only folder that would contain about 50% of that "Music" folder, and have Sonos use THAT as it's Library. I don't want all the extra kids music in my Sonos folder Can I do this by using shortcuts from the "Music" folder and send them to the Sonos folder I create, or do I have to have the physical mp3's residing in the Sonos folder? Thanks.
Sonos with Spotify is giving me intermittent "unable to play..." or "cannot add songs to play list" or error 1002. Says either connection to spotify lost, or connection speed insufficient to maintain playback. My Ookla speed test gives me 14ms ping and 36Mbps down and 1Mbps up. Today i used spotify on sonos all morning no probs, i then went out for 30 mins come back and is not working. I have been getting this intermittent type of thing for months. I have reconnected Spotify, i have unplugged and restarted whole system countless times. I have tried every SonosNet Channel. My Sonos Connect is hardwired with Cat5 into my router. What do i need to do to fix this? I have submitted diagnostics 7098977 Thanks
So.. thought I could have speakers wired up through ethernet to my central switch which is connected to my modem, and other speakers connected wirelessly where there is no ethernet, but my third IT guy has identified the problem as a network storm, and recommended switching all off wireless speakers (but this was the whole point of me getting SONOS in the first place) or buy STP compatible switches (for which he quoted $10 000 - I am not joking) So my question is..Which should I do 1. Connect JUST the bridge to the switch by ethernet, and have ALL the other speakers wireless - this is my preferred option 2. Have NO wireless SONOS speakers and accept that SONOS is limited and not a true wireless network of sound, so I may as well sell the lot and install wired speakers around the house. 3. Pay the guy $10 000 for STP switches 4. Any other options? My modem and switches are not on the "not compatible" list. Also, I have three spare switches, and 4 modems, because we tried eve
I got, a Sonos setup of 7 Play:1, 1 Play:5 1gen, one Sonos Sub and 3 Boosts one per each room. Everything works fine for a a while, but suddenly the system makes every ZP in the room coordinator even if their sitting close to the Boost. As long as the hardwired Boosts are the coordinator it seems to work fine but. When other ZP's are automatically upgraded to Coordinators the music drops randomly in every room its like they start hopping between coordinators. Is there a way to fix this behavior.
I have set up a playbar, a sub and two ones. When we play music with the settings on "full" it sounds great. When we are streaming a movie on either itunes or netflix the sound from the playbar and the sub are terrific but the ones do not make any kind of audio impression. I had this same set up in a smaller room and the ones were right behind the couch. In that environment, you could definitely hear the ones playing certain sounds for a true surround experience. In the larger room I have just set up, I cannot hear anything close to surround sound. Any advice/guidance is appreciated.
I connect all my devices to a WLAN router which itself is connected to the home-router. The Connect is connected to the home-router as well. Using the browser I can access the web-interface of the connect, the SONOS App, however, does not find the device. What can I do? Thanks in advance Dan The two routers are ZyXEL USG40 and USG40W (for the WiFI)
Hi My Connect is plugged into the home-router (ZyXEL USG40), all controlling devices (iPads, Mac, etc.) are connected via WIFI to a WLAN-Router (ZyXEL USG40W) whose WAN-Port ist connected to the home-router as well. Through the web-interface I can connect to the connect device and check its status. However, the app on my mac and on the ipads do not find the device. Can you help? Big thx in advance Dan
